"The first time I was in contact with a whale I couldn't help but burst into tears. It was almost like touching an alien being."

I was just told that there have been hundreds of whales passing close to shore in Bahia Asuncion.
Some have even come within 100 feet of shore to feed on the morning fish boils.

December through March is a lucky time to live in BA.

Many people weep with high emotion when they experience contact with whales...kind of short circuits our wiring.

FYI...the hundreds of whales passing are gray whales and dont eat fish! they pass close to shore to take advantage of an inshore north current to give them a bit of a push on their 5,000 km migration. they are passing between the Island and our place all day now...no moms and calves yet though.

whale feeding on fish boils would be humpbacks most likely and there are only a handful of those around.

Thanks for the information, Shari!

Rossman said he had seen several whales (but did not specify which) very close to the house at the beach.
