How sad to see it in this condition.
As a child we spent our summers on Catalina and I would often see "the Great White Steamer" come into Avalon (we had a mooring at the Isthmus). There
was always a big fanfare when it came in. Kids would swim out to it and dive for coins the passengers would toss to them.
I hope it does not get destroyed, but by the looks of it, it would take a big pile of money. And of course, there is always that old defintion of a
boat: A hole in the water you throw money into.
