I've often told my friends in CA you can see whale moms and calves very close to shore. I've seen them in the kelp beds right off the point near La
Jolla.
(Many times people don't notice them, or realize what they are seeing. They probably wonder why I'm pointing, jumping up and down and laughing with
joy.)
These young men get a real thrill. Those of us who have been lucky enough to touch young whales in the lagoons completely understand their shock,
amazement and expressions of joy...inarticulate as it may be. Dude!
