Trip down to Loreto

Phil S - 1-11-2005 at 08:34 PM

Arrived today, Loreto. Roads in great shape, except for the usual potholes south of Catavina. Sunshine, and 80 degrees at 3. p.m. At Guerro Negro, north Pemex station NO electricity. Stopped at agriculture stop. No spray. Out of "tickets" Immigration closed yesturday (Monday)?????? We check in there most of the time, but did try to check in Sunday at Immigration at Ensendad, but closed. Ended up doing it at Santa Rosalia. Immigration fellow said, "no problem"!!!!

Capt. George. Wendy bad cold, so passed on stopping by for couple days to visit. Another time. Anytime your in Loreto and need a place to stay, consider our home.

Capt. Mike. Stopped at your place in Mulege. Looks A.o.k. You have a next door 'temp' camped out at the site next to you, toward the 'gate'. Six dogs, and all barking!!!!!!!(just kidding!!!!) No dogs.
Give me a call if you arrive in Loreto. You have my number.

One one military stop wanted to look into the back of the pickup. Rest just waived us through.

Stopped at Ensendad overnight. Stayed at motel just to the south of Jokers. Can't remember name. Clean rooms, good mattresses. Great night sleep, and good t.v. However restaurant doesn't open until 8.a.m. Large room. Price $380 pesos. Excellent security. At Santa Rosalia, checked out the old hotel, constructed of wood by the refinery buildings. Ultra small rooms. Micro mini bathroom. Old t.v.'s and channels were fuzzy. Price $280 pesos. Went on to the old reliable El Morro, south end of town. $330 pesos, and large rooms & bathroom. Good food at the restaurant. Noticed next morning that the wing where the office is that is ocean view has been remodeled sometime earlier, and rates the same, so will ask for those rooms in the future. Quiet at most of the 'favorite' beach campgrounds south of Mulege. Some visitors, but alot of space available. One, I think was Santispac had a sign at the gate saying, $7.50 u.s. per night. Yikes!!!! Believe sign at Requison (sp??) was $5.00 Are they pricing themselves out of customers?????

We think the name of the hotel you stayed at in Esanada just south of the Joker is the La Quinta....nice clean and safe...:yes:

Why didn't you stay at Brenda's in Santa Rosalia next door to the El Morro???

Hi Bob & Susan. Brenda's was a consideration, but they don't have a restaurant. ONly a bar. We needed a restaurant, and rates are cheaper at El Morro than Brenda's. El Morro is $33.00 u.s.

Capt Mike. Can recommend the fellow who did the center console work on the boat. Also did transom work. Good job!!!
Dan from Loreto is very interested and waiting for me to give him a call to look at the boat. If it's meant to be your, it will happen. If not????? Keep me posted.
