I'm driving from San Diego down to Bahia de Los Angeles. Just wondering about road closures, detours, problems etc...

As of last Friday, it was devoid of what you speak of completely on the Mex 1 highway

the area around Catavina has varying degrees of potholes.

Laguna Chapala (Hwy. 5 jcn.) to Parador Punta Prieta (L.A. Bay jcn.) was mostly good... the only pot holes were for a few miles north of Parador Punta
Prieta/ South of El Crucero (curve in the highway where the old San Felipe via Calamajué road meets Hwy. 1).

Hi nectarphonic. We went to Mulege on july 20th, and most of the highway 1 is pretty decent. Id rather say very good condition, except in Cataviña,
pulling out of the Hotel, where for more than 20 meters there is no paved road.
