Been on Amigos since '97 and have enjoyed talking, exchanging info and learning about "Baja" since I was only really introduced to Baja in "95" - wished it could have been sooner but thats life.
Hope this board works for me and thanks to the gang at Amigo de Baja - Good job and hope you take the well deserved rest due to you all !!!!

P.S. - don,t post often but when I do I hopefully can provide useful info to those who haven't had the pleaseure of the old "hands on" experience of Baja.

Welcome Duckman,

If your posting name is related to duck hunting and in Baja, you might enjoy Larry Stanton's books re duck hunting south of Mexicali a number of years back.

Mike - Thanks for the welcome - have read many of your posts and enjoyed! I do enjoy chasing ducks in N. California but don't really care about hitting any anymore! Just the experience of being out in the early a.m. enjoying the sunrise which reminds me of the great sunrises I've enjoyed in Los Barilles. Same goes when I go down to the East Cape - catch a few fish to eat, leave the rest to enhance the experience for the future visitors to a place I have learned to appreciate and love!

Stanton, in his first book, "Best Stories of Baja" is all over bird hunting in norh-eastern Baja and it's a good read because he really gets into the experiences he and his pals have wading through the ponds and getting to know the local families where they go year-after-year. I haven't yet read his second book. Guess I'll wait for retirement, just around the corner. I think I can read between the lines regarding your comments on hunting and fishing. I find that as I age I am becoming far more conservative than I was as a younger guy. Life has greater value and I know I'm running out of it! Shucks, tonight I noticed two tiny spiders in our kitchen sink. Rather then wash them down the drain I actually cornered them into a small glass and put them outside. Maybe there is hope.

Anyway, take care, and we'll be seeing you here on bajanomad I hope.
