Aereo Servicio Guerero -flying Ensenada to G Negro

BajaBlanca - 3-1-2016 at 02:36 PM

My mom had to go home to san diego after spending 6 weeks with us. Tried hooking her up with a ride but it just didn't pan out, so I went online to check out ASG. I have used them a number of time before and it was a bit of a hassle, one could make the reservation over the phone, but you had to go over to the office to pick up a boarding pass. The last time I went, I begged the owners to get online service and accept credit card payments.

This time, I was able to purchase the ticket online! For around $125 you can now fly Ens - G Negro or G Negro to Ens. However, there was no place to print anything up.

Since I had flown before, I know that there is a stop on Cedros Island but the online ticket says mom will leave at noon and arrive at 2 pm. So, we leave for the airport early and stop by the office to get a boarding pass and to confirm arrival time.

Turns out you don't get a boarding pass, you just need ID.
Turns out mom was the ONLY passenger that day and the flight was direct to Ensenada!

Thanks for posting. That is really cool. I didn't know this service existed. Is that noon BCS time or BC time? In other words, is it a 2 hr or 3 hr flight?

A stop on Cedros Island would have been cool. I was just looking at some flying video from there the other day. When you flew, how long was the stop on Cedros Island?

That had to make her day. Way cool.

The airport is in the northern state, but the office in town is not... good question!

well, she left at noon Baja sur time and arrived in Ensenada at 2 pm their time so....a 3 hour flight.

BTW the flight almost always goes to Cedros, this was an exception.

When I went to Cedros heading north, the stop was under an hour.

when I went to Cedros heading home, we were really late leaving Ensenada and they put us up for the night in Cedros and we left the next morning.

Awesome. Dziekuje for the explanation, Blanca.

Wow- great deal! And mom looks healthy and happy.

Looks like a small plane- I wonder if you had a large group if you would need more than 1 flight to get everyone south (or north). And what the weight limits are...

Good to know about this travel option- thanks for sharing.

the one time we were late was because the group traveling south to Cedros had bought decorations for a huge quincinera (sp) partyI. They had tons of stuff and it was all allowed on the plane. I was amazed.

Cedros Air flies a 10 passenger Cessna Grand Caravan from and to Ensenada. Each passenger is allowed 50 pounds of cargo. Rods must not be in containers and reels must be removed from rods that go in the aisle.

Acording to this web site you can also book a Cedros fishing trip and fly out of Brown Field (Otay Mesa) with a MX Customs stop in Ensenada:

Thanks Bob- better info and photo. Cool little plane!

boy, 50 lbs of luggage is great! I seem to remember ASG had a big allowance but since I travel really light, I don't remember the details.
