The actress behind the El Chapo/Sean Penn deal

Long profile in the New Yorker here.
Focuses on Kate del Castillo and how El Chapo contacted her about making a movie on his life. You can't make this stuff up....

It reads like a Shakespearean tragedy with each of the main characters with their own fatal flaw. ¡Que interesante!

Thanks for posting the link.

Kate Del Castillo will likely have the last laugh in this. She became one of the most popular, and wealthy actresses in Mexico. Seems fairly clear that Shorty was enamored of her.

She became a US citizen last year and has a home in Brentwood that she bought for $2.29 million. If she was involved in money laundering, she would have fallen years ago.

Wodd, here's a challenge for you. Can you locate where both Shorty's mom's compound is, and his wife and twins? Just curious, that's all.... you seem to know where the Big Money is. News had it he crossed the border a couple of times just to visit Mami. Gee, I wonder if the Wonder Wall woulda kept him out.

If you are using the term wonder wall about Donald Trump...

Bush built most of the fences using 9/11 as an excuse. The American Southwest is in arguably a bi-national culture and the goobers up in Iowa and Kansas need to get over it.

Méxicanos today ( http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/mexicans-celebrate-holid... ) said if a wall is built, they will build tunnels. No doubt the 'Wonder Wall' is a George Wallace stunt at angering people to vote for bigotry...

I find it interesting that you have referenced George Wallace several times on this forum.

I was kind of a hippie type back in the day. My college days. My buddies and i used to hang around in mid-town Manhattan, and found ways to get into many major buildings, including hotels, without having to go through the main entrance. I got to meet and talk to many major celebrities during that time. In the current day, security would not have allowed what we did back then.

I absolutely hated George Wallace.

We were able to slip into a George Wallace rally in Manhattan, just to see who the people supporting him were. Scary crap.

I still, to this day have a Wallace for president button that I picked up there as a memento.

We also crashed a Nelson Rockefeller event. He would have made a pretty good president.

Given what Trump has stirred up, it appears that this nation has not changed very much.

You shouldn't be surprised as apparently your politics haven't changed much either.

And there is a problem with that?:?:

The ONLY war story I enjoy telling was just after I came home from The Nam in '71. I was an active participant in a horseshoe ambush of the KKK who had planned an axe-handle party on a 'hippie-house' in Clarksville, TN where I was still an active serviceman. Wallace epitomized everything wrong with our country, much as what is going down now. Hate and division sells politics, the same as sex sells ads. It was my proudest battle.

Kinda sounds like we are buddies.
