The Cuestas of El Camino Real (June Baja Bound Article)

A cuesta is a grade, and on the mission trail "El Camino Real" these grades with their switchbacks up and down the cliffs of canyons and mountain passes can still be seen on satellite images (and in person). I talk about several of these cuestas between Loreto and San Borja:

Cuesta Blanca ahead, looking north above El Camino Real (between San Ignacio and Santa Gertrudis). Cuesta Tagualila is on a left fork, that trail can be seen if you look closely.

Nice article and Thanks for posting. I need to hike a section of that someday.

Glad you enjoyed it.
I would like to hike more of it, as well.
Baja Bucko has been riding a mule over much of it since 2001.
I hope to read her book when she writes it!
