For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:
The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical
Storm Estelle, located about 900 miles west-southwest of the
southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. The National
Hurricane Center has issued its last advisory on Tropical Storm
Darby, located about 1000 miles east of the Big Island of Hawaii.
Subsequent advisories on Darby will be issued by the Central Pacific
Hurricane Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
1. A broad area of low pressure located several hundred miles south of
Acapulco, Mexico, continues to produce a large but disorganized
area of showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions are
expected to be conducive for gradual development of this system, and
a tropical depression is likely to form during the next few days
while it moves west-northwestward to northwestward at about 10 mph
to the south of Mexico.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...40 percent
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...80 percent
2. A weak low pressure area is located almost 1000 miles south of the
southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. Environmental
conditions are forecast to be marginally conducive for some
development of this system later this week or this weekend while it
moves west-northwestward at 10 to 15 mph.

1. Satellite wind data show that the area of low pressure centered
about 300 miles southwest of Acapulco, Mexico, has a well-defined
center and is producing winds of tropical storm force. Shower and
thunderstorm activity has continued to become better organized, and
advisories will be initiated on this system as a tropical storm
this afternoon while it moves northwestward at about 10 mph.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...high...near 100 percent
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...near 100 percent
2. Shower and thunderstorm activity has become better organized this
morning in association with an area of low pressure located about
900 miles south-southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California
peninsula. While environmental conditions are expected to be only
marginally conducive for additional development, only a slight
increase in organization would result in the formation of a tropical
depression later today while the system moves west-northwestward at
10 to 15 mph.

we've been getting minor sideband swell from Darby and Estelle. largest waves go out in the direction the storm is traveling. good time to be in
Hawaii.

Jeepers....this string of storms has brought the central pacside coast lots of swell so the poor abalone fishermen havent been able to fulfill the
quota as of yet....but the surfers are sporting big grins!
Frank is getting closer to the peninsula than the others...luckily the water temps up here havent warmed up like they did the last couple
years...which is good for the abalone and to knock down hurricanes!

about 200 miles southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico, and on Tropical
Depression Eight-E, located more than 850 miles south-southwest of
the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula.
Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 5 days.
