https://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/reo/5789737403.html 2k might be a bargain for the right person. Does this area flood everytime it rains?

ehall - 11-14-2016 at 01:37 PM

Not mine, just saw it on craiglist.

if you have questions about this property why don't you send an email to the owner...his email is in the ad
gofish5757@gmail.com

Maybe he wants an unbiased opinion of the area.

willardguy - 11-14-2016 at 03:26 PM

I wish i could be i interested but i'm a long ways from retirement age. Posted it out of curiosity more than anything. 2k seems awful cheap.

I have been in that house, it's in La Fortuna, across from Sauls. I don't think it would be that hard to get livable...Hell ofa buy...Does it get flooded every time, well maybe...

bajabuddha - 11-14-2016 at 05:46 PM

I thought I saw your elbow prints on the bar........

chuckie - 11-14-2016 at 06:01 PM

And occasional face print in the driveway...

Sweetwater - 11-14-2016 at 06:26 PM

The 6th photo shows the water line just below what appears to be the electrical box outside the shower. The area pics seem to place it on the south side of the river, maybe close to Jungle Jims?

the house is being offered at allow 2K park by in and a long term lease.

If I read the ad correctly, that's not a sale price but a buy in price with a long term lease. Know what you're getting in to is my advice.

chuckie - 11-14-2016 at 06:39 PM

Geezo..Read. the posts...Its across from SAULS on the NORTH side of the river....Know what you are getting in to? That's profound..No one would ever think of that on their own...

Hi Chuckie! Hope we can drain some Pacificos again sometime!

To OP Ehall,

No, doesn't flood every time it rains there. Ya' have to have an Odile level event for floodwaters to get that high. Since the road has been repaved the rain events (chubascos/t-storms) seem to drain down the alley better than they have in the past, meaning when it rains no problema. Happy with that.

The flooding thing is not for everybody; pick your disaster: flood, earthquake, landslide, tornado, hurricane, fires, no place is safe in my experience, or its a really really boring place to live.

How do I know? Been living there for 10 years (2 casas up from the offering), been through several floods and cleanups. I can take it, some can't. Can't wait to get back, build a fire in the chimenea, host a happy hour under the green green palms against the blue blue sky!

My neighbors there are the best, toughest, most generous and understanding neighbors I've had anywhere. No whiners. They've forgotten more about flooding, insurance claims, cleanups with the locals, good/bad times than most people will ever know.

We keep coming back for a reason...there's something good we got in our little park that I just don't find in other places. That good is hard to put into a real estate ad. So is the downside. It's your choice of risk/reward where ever you wind up.

I was able to translate
"at allow 2K park by in and a long term lease."

Try: "At a low $2000 park buy-in and a long-term lease".
So you're not buying it.
Maybe.

MulegeAL - 11-14-2016 at 08:25 PM

More translation:
If someone really wants to buy it, that can be arranged. But we decided it was best to start off by offering on lease terms, easier for all concerned, and a good way to try things out for all parties concerned for a season or two.

Just be sure that buying is what you really want. It's mexico.
There are pros/cons for lease vs. buy.

I am an owner there, and I also believe that you never really own land, that is a western cultural illusion. It's about perceived control. Verses a hurricane flood, there is no control, 'ya take your chances where ever 'ya wind up. People fuss and spend more on a used car than this place!

willardguy - 11-14-2016 at 08:30 PM

so what the heck does it cost every month? :?:

Thanks for decoding that. I understand now.
