Tourist tax

bajaguy - 2-3-2017 at 10:11 AM

Maybe California can implement this tax for everyone who crosses their border.....more revenue for them to fritter away on a train to nowhere

Heck, why not have every state charge to cross their borders, seems like a great idea

DENNIS - 2-4-2017 at 03:31 PM

Airlines do it.

TecateRay - 2-4-2017 at 09:48 PM

It could replace the federal funds California will lose for being a Sanctuary state:lol::lol:

bajaguy - 2-4-2017 at 10:11 PM

Wrong again......left California in 1974 and have not looked back since.....a once great state down the toilet

Wrong again. I've been here for many, many yrs. The bleeding heart Libs have slowly destroyed the place but I have renewed faith with the new administration in place. Good things are starting to happen and happen fast.

Happy Days are Here Again ?

California welcomes all. There is even a trailer park in Barstow with a welcome sign for knuckle draggers like you!

Fed Funding

SURE, the Liberals in charge Suck, BUT ...................................

More Gold flows FROM the Golden State than returns.

California receives back less on dollars sent to DC than the vast majority of states.

Ranking around 37th on return.

Helping to subsidize those Red Southern States.

Good work Bill, backing up your position with examples, that
is rarely done here, but that may well confuse the aptly
described knuckle draggers, who tend to go for, what's the term? 'Low hanging fruit'

Bye-Bye.....

California democrats chased Toyota away a few years ago... to Texas and Baja (where my truck was made).

It is amazing how dense they are thinking they can pile all sorts of extra taxes and regulations upon industry, and industry will just take it.

Companies don't want to leave, but at a point, it becomes impossible to stay in business if those taxes and other government costs can no longer be paid for BY THE CONSUMER and they stop buying the product.

Democrats think businesses pay taxes! Hilarious! Taxes are a cost, and a business gets its income from selling to consumers. Costs are included in the price of a product or service. When democrats chant to make corporations pay more, they are really saying "screw the consumer"! That is why so much comes from China, Mexico, and other off-shore sites now. When a business leaves a state because the tax and regulation burden becomes more than the product made will sell for, the business either SHUTS DOWN or RELOCATES... and there go the JOBS and all that income tax that went to the state or spending in the state by the employees!

We NOW have a business giant for a president, who understands this and is showing us how to bring business and jobs and income BACK.

As far as the Tacoma goes it is ASSEMBLED IN MEXICO . Back when I was still trucking I traveled the 99 and I-5 corridor and daily traveled with truck load's of Toyota truck Frames and Bed's HEADED SOUTH.
Just two days ago was in Tecate and witnessed Two truck loads of frames headed over to the Assembly Plant.
As for business giant's , I guess you and # 45 have a lot in common as far as Failed business's go

California where drought panic is less than a year old... and money went to criminals and building a bullet train to nowhere instead of where it should have been spent, like the Oroville dam, whose spillway is right now failing and the base of the dam is being eaten away: https://www.facebook.com/159207208524/videos/101544832801335...

the Oroville dam is doing fine! When the weather improves this spring they will get to work and make it good again. Things fail, we repair them and get back to work!

We can have our oroville dam repairs and bullet train too! And we'll still have some money left over to give to the criminals too! Life is good!

DK, you need to get a job! I am tired of my tax dollars supporting your leisure life full of griping about taxes that you don't pay!

DK, here is an idea: why don't you go up to Oroville and get a construction job this year? You whine and moan about no work, but you won't travel to where the jobs are!
Also there is Lots of construction work going on in the county right now if you want to stay local!

No one cent of your tax dollars supports my leisure goat. That's hysterical... kind of like how our health care costs will go down and you can keep your doctor... or and we have created shovel ready jobs with the billions Obummer gave to labor union bosses.

California is in great shape if you want to ignore the $1 trillion dollar unfunded State Employees pension fund, and also their unfunded $150 billion dollar medical retirement fund. Not much mentioned by the politicians when talking bullet trains, but it is there non the less. With high income earners and businesses leaving for more friendly tax states, who will pay the bills? The great weather will be the only good thing left.

"Conservaturds" that now have their "Turd in Chief", well, that has a nice and genunely fitting ring to it.
