Palmas Altas Camp Loreto

bajamary1952 - 2-23-2017 at 04:04 PM

I'm nearing the end of my 2nd month Baja peninsula roadtrip with my dog and now staying at this cute little campground right in Loreto near the Malecon. It seems to be mostly backpackers and motorcyclists and mostly Europeans. It has electricity, wi-fi, showers, bathrooms, water, a mini-kitchen and the grounds are covered with palm trees & gated for security. A really nice place. 150 pesos/night. Sorry my photos are too large for upload.

Sorry that I missed seeing the place! Can you send me the photos and I will post them for you. An exact location in Loreto, website or email address for them too, if you can. You can email the photos as attachments to info AT vivabaja.com

I'm interested as well. I've lived in Loreto for almost 8 years and have never heard of it. Thanks

It must be the best kept secret in Loreto. I have never heard of it either. I will check it out when I get to town.

Isn't there a sign right on Hidalgo??

As someone mentioned it is behind Hotel Oasis: https://palmasaltascamp.wordpress.com/location/
Definitely not the typical Loreto/gringo tourist place; mostly Europeans & Canadians.

This place is some distance behind and south of the Oasis. The easiest way to find it is to look for the tall gray concrete auditorium structure. It is probably three stories tall, 3-4 blocks behind and several blocks south of the Oasis. Palmas Altas is nearly across the street from the back of the auditorium.
