Military X-ray, Roadside

billklaser - 3-6-2017 at 12:15 PM

I just drove to Loreto today from San Diego. About 1 mile north of Loreto in the south bound lane, there is a military checkpoint. Right next to the southbound lane was a large box truck, when I went by noticed " X-ray machine". They had the lanes set up to go by the truck very slow.

First time I have ever seen this? Brings up a lot of question though, the first one being concerned about a health hazard?? As a side note, crossed the border at San Ysidro yesterday around 6:00 am. They were running 80 % of all vehicles through the X-ray machine.

Has anybody seen this portable truck X-ray on the roadside before????

80% through x-ray??

Hard to imagine 80% being xrayed.
We got xrayed two weeks ago.
They could do three vehicles at a time, so they picked three of our gang.
Loaded us onto a platform that held just three pickups.
We were there at least 15 minutes.
Hard to imagine doing any volume, let alone 80% of the vehicles flowing through
At that rate the end of the line would celebrate Christmas there.

I saw one of those vehicles on the road here the other day.

i would doubt they could xray 8% w/o seriously impeding the border.

I realize that 80% is not normal. At the time I crossed the border, (5:30 am) They were putting most cars through X-ray When I left there were close to 20 vehicles waiting their turn. First time I have ever seen this......
