Saw a whale this morning in the Bahia Concepcion. It was dark all over with a flat head, a not so large dorsal fin and totally dark tail. There's
debate over whether it was white underneath. Don't know if it was a juvenile or just kinda small.

If it was not large, my wild guess is a species of pilot whale, a toothed whale. I have seen them in the bay driving fish against the shore. But
they don't have flat heads, that that is more typical of baleen whales.

'll stake it was definitely a humpy. Small dorsal, dark all over. They cruise through this time of year, have a video of one fin-slapping right off

Yes, he/she/they were headed out of the bay and I haven't seen or heard of his/her/their return. But it is grand to see them in the bay when there is
so little life compared with decades ago.
