Any Smokin deals Around?

LancairDriver - 5-12-2017 at 07:13 PM

A friend just showed me an unbelievable buy he made today. Have you ever seen anyone bailing out of Baja offering a deal like this? I never seem to run into any.

2001 Diesel Ford 4 door Lariat loaded options in great shape 140,000 miles.
A almost new camper mounted on it. Didn't notice the brand.
A 23ft aluminum center consol boat complete with almost new 90hp Honda 4 stroke
And trailer.
Cost for all $5,000 cash.
Sold by a retired UPS driver who had recently inherited 15 million dollars. He just wanted the stuff gone.
My friend was tipped off about this by a handy man doing some work for him who couldn't raise the cash to buy.

there are a lot of end of season deals this time of year. folks are heading north, and want to be "done".

Been a fact o life as long as gringos have beencoming to Mexico:light:. The "three Ds" culls the herd pretty quickly down here. Smokin deals are to be had for anyone with cash on hand. Add real estate to that.

3 Ds= Death, divorce and drugs (alchohol included)

So tell me, where are you with the Easter bunny and Santa Claus?

And just what city was this located in? :-)

UPS drivers I know are not that stupid. They work hard for their take home.
Did he get rid of his broke unicorn as well?

I have seen so many incredibly generous Americans/Canadians pretty much give away vehicles and more just like the guy above....they give it to deserving Mexicans who are their bros and sistas. One of the parts of Mexico I most like!

I would be concerned about the vehicle having a lien on it and waking up to find a bailiff with a tow truck driving away with my new prize ?? Is there a way to do a lien check in Mex. or try and do a check in the state that the vehicle has plates on might be best ??

If the seller has the title to the vehicle, it typically indicates on the Title if there is a lienholder. Also, with some States, the lienholder doesn't even release the title unless the vehicle has been completely paid-off. There's not much chance that you'd be surprised by a reposession, as you have described.

maybe in the states but the bailiff I worked for here in BC would track you down to Argentina to repo your ride if he knew were you were !!ha-ha

There are some great deals in Baja but you have to be in the know. Friend just got a funky place, beachfront $10,000. Spending time and asking around is the way to find the great deals. Don't be in a hurry.
Wait...why am I telling everybody? I need to get my shack first!

Jezebel, if you buy a story like that you should play it safe and stay in Sun City. Did anyone tell you the sky is green, some of the answers on this site insinuate that in a metaphoric way.

This is the real deal and I saw all the stuff personally and have no desire to waste time proving anything to some looser. Obviously I don't have an axe to grind here or are trying to make a buck. As has been stated previously, people bailing out of Baja either are hard up for cash, or have so much they don't care.If you don't like it you can shove your opinion where the sun don't shine, I could care less.
