Why can't I use the Today's Post. Anybody else?

SFandH - 6-2-2017 at 03:52 PM

what do you mean you can't use them?

Interesting

After all these years, first time I've ever clicked on that.

Works OK.

It seems to be a bit of a misnomer.

In that it also includes the past two days.

Whatever.

Winnebago, were you logged in at the time? I've been on 'today's posts' since I started; hits all the boards (other than Off Topic, thank goodness) and at the bottom of the page you can choose how many days' back you peruse. Handy tool.

When first logging in to Nomads you'll have options of boards. Once I navigate to 'todays' I click on favorites and have that as the initial URL hit to access the site. Easy peasy. Rosta ruck on your hunt.

Yes, you must be logged in to see the today's posts.

I ALWAYS begin with this since it lets you know what is new - and I really like that it includes two days , much as a misnomer as it is!

The TODAY'S POST is an item you can reset and put as much or as little information as you want.

It is resettable by your "USER CONTROL PANEL"

Holy potato pie, that is the only way to use the board. Makes it 100x easier. How could you not know this??

BajaBlanca - 6-3-2017 at 07:38 PM

I now realize that you can indeed read TODAYS POSTS without being logged on. However, you can't make any comments.

I stand corrected!

Hmmmmm, I almost never log in, yet I am automatically "live" and can post whenever I click on my NOMADS icon on my wallpaper. It automatically goes to TODAY'S POST whenever I bring up NOMADS via my icon. Occasionally I do have to log-in again if I have not posted for a week or so.

surfhat - 6-5-2017 at 05:07 PM

I am having trouble with watching posted videos. The space is blank where there should be access to watch them. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

surfhat - 6-5-2017 at 05:10 PM

This goes for the seven sister video. All I get is a blank space where the video access is supposed to be. Thanks.

Works for me just fine. Reboot and give it a go.

You probably have it set to "keep me logged in" so you don't have to log in each time you bring up the site.

The video worked for me, and I am using my travel laptop, an old P.O.S. Acer, and a marginal WIFI connection.

Are you using an ad blocker? I'd try a different browser. Firefox is the best imo.

surfhat - 6-6-2017 at 07:20 AM

Thanks everybody. No luck yet. Must be my Macbook getting in the way.

Safari too. I will try Chrome and see if it makes a difference.

No ad blocker that I know of. Duh.

Make SURE your FLASH player is up to date and running in the background.

I just checked and my Flash player is up to date.

Next? Thanks to all here.

bajabuddha - 6-6-2017 at 04:10 PM

Here's yet another suggestion, surfhat. Is nomads on your favorites list? If not, log in to the 'daily posts' page, then set that in your favorites list for what comes up. If you go straight to the forum boards you get 'em all. Sowwy, didn't go back through all the posts to see if that's been tried yet. Works for me.

surfhat - 6-7-2017 at 11:52 AM

Thanks Buddha.

Nomad has been on my favorites list from the beginning. I often don't log in and just read through the daily posts.

Either way doesn't seem to make difference. Some videos come right up no problema. Others not so much, just a blank space.

Thats what I get for wanting to see the sisters. Thanks to all here.

surfhat - 6-7-2017 at 03:46 PM

Thanks to JZ, as he posted some other links that worked like a charm.

Nice production over all.

Flash player is up to date. I still need to try Chrome sometime. In the past, Chrome did make a difference on some other site when compared to Safari. I am a dinosaur.

Thanks to all here, and thanks JZ for the sites that worked.
