Always a lot of fun with wonderful people. The ranch is at 5,000' elevation, scenic mountains with pine trees and granite domes. Enjoyable camping in a secure place. Bring your horse, or rent a horse (reserve a horse early).
The Sandoval family are gracious hosts and always welcome visitors. So, even if you can't make this cabalgata event, it's a great place for a weekend retreat.

Is it that simple to bring horses across the border, (either direction)?

Hi David,
Just returned from Rancho el Topo. Big fire burning for days, to the west of there. It is somewhere south of El Hongo.
No, transporting a horse legally is a bureaucratic hassle. Unlike 20 years ago when you could just ride across...
There are a lot of people who trailer their horses in northern BC to various cabalgatas. Many from La Mision, Ensenada, Tecate, & Mexicali.
