La Paz hotel with a pool

MexicoTed - 8-11-2017 at 02:49 PM

I have a question. My friend's are going to La Paz for the first time in 20 years to celebrate their anniversary. They want a hotel near the malecon so they can walk everywhere, but must have a pool. And I'm sure they want something kinda nice.

I usually stay at La Concha or Hotel Marina or Posada Luna Sol. Can someone recommend a hotel. How is La Perla these days? Does Seven Crown have a pool?

Thanks,
Ted

Here the one many folks here in Chivato use

There is a small restaurant that serves fantastic breakfasts too.

Hotel Catedral. Roof top pool, view of the bay, a couple of blocks to malecon, reasonable prices:

Russ hit the nail on the head. The Club El Moro is absolutely perfect. Pool, hot tub, good restaurant for breakfasts and lunch and right on the Malecon.

Club El Moro is great. If you check in ask for Carlos which is the office manager and tell him Steve Martin said to treat you like Kings.

Thanks for the great referrals. I'll pass them on and let you know how it goes.

I second Hotel Catedral. Great location, underground secured parking, newer.

We like La Concha. Showing her age but still very nice:

ElMoro is pretty nice but it is about as far as you can go east of the malecon as I remember,,, not an easy walk to the main goins on....

last stay there something was amiss with electric and they had ext cords running from room to room... probably have that problem fixed now.....

Posada Mar y Sol. Near Marina La Paz and easy walk to the beginning of the Malecon.
Good room, continental breakfast (hot available to order) and they run all sorts of tours.

A friend and I stayed at the Las Gaviotas a couple of years ago. We did day trips to Cabo and other areas south of La Paz as well as La Paz. It's like an apartment with kitchen, dining area, living room, master bedroom with it's own bath and another bedroom. Balcony looking toward the Malecon, one block up. All rooms are the same layout looking north. 5 floors, the higher up the better the view. Breakfast included. Pool. It was around $140/night. I would stay there again.

No hotel in La Paz beats Costa Baja.
