Hassle free zone

So, in an urgent attempt (we leave Wednesday) to get a clear answer...

I am aware that the "Baja peninsula "free zone" or " hassle free zone" as it applied to the FMM requirements was eliminated.

But several sites are quoted as saying the vehicle permits are NOT required these "free" zones (Baja peninsula and parts of Sonora)?

Is this accurate? Concerned about recent threads dealing with truck camper blockage

For Baja and mainland Mexico you need to have an FMM (tourist Permit)...
You do not need a TIP ( Temp. Import Permit ) for your vehicle for Baja and the northern part of the state of Sonora down to Enpalme just south of Guaymas and the state or Quintana Roo on the Caribbean coast.
