No, it's just Gonzaga Bay "growing up"!

Sad to see if you have been going to it long before pavement or road graders unless you like that sort of thing.

Thanks for sharing this photo. There was nothing of this new building last January.

I thought those cabins at Rancho Grande were cabin rentals. They look nice from the pictures I have seen.

Have they been converted with people living full time in them now?

I am heading down Thanksgiving weekend.

Yeah no kidding that would be an awesome setup. Its a decent walk especially from the campgrounds to Alfosinas if you want somewhere to eat.

It would be great if they could setup a small restaurant.

When you say the market has two registers you are talking about the market across the Pemex and turn in to Alfosinas right?

Yep. Girl working there is very so, so. Cost us $130/night for 3 ppl when we showed up late recently. My Mexico friend commented how unfriendly she was and how the place changed.

First time I ever went there we arrived by boat. Anonio, w/o asking, offered to let us drive his truck to Rancho Grande to get supplies. This was round 2002.

Who ever owns the place now needs to teach the current mgmt some manners.

Who was it that said something like- One day the road will be paved and bring in ???

I can remember Papa saying that "one day the road will be paved" and that was 40 years ago :-)

bonanza bucko - 11-16-2017 at 11:36 AM

High rise on Alfy's beach? Lemme outa there.

We flew into there with the runway under water and drove That Road for years while we built two houses there and enjoyed that to da max. But this is too much like a trip to LA.

Question ?

Is the $130.00 dollars a night simply due to supply and demand or
is there any other justifiable reasons ?

Seems outrageous to me.
But what do I know ?
.
Are the rooms really nice with good beds ? WiFi, etc ?
.

Did they get a permit for that? Another Baja Dream. But it looks this one will last.

advrider - 11-16-2017 at 07:05 PM

Last time I stayed two years ago, it was a $100 a night in the newer section. No towels and the room was just OK, dinner was not cheap either! It's all about location and demand, we all know the location is there so the demand must be too? Glad I stayed in years past before it all changed and they paved the road. Now I will stop for a cold one on the way to BOLA.

It is supply and demand . Don't like the price go 100 miles north or 200 miles south. I am not a fan of the hotel but it's off grid and the only option.

wish they'd get hot on the golf course!
