Great article about the first Baja 1000 which was called the NORRA Mexican 1000. It's the 50th anniversary of the race.

writer and author ('The Grinning Gargoyle', as he was called by Choral Pepper).

wonderful people, full of life and a joy to talk to about the good old days of Baja.

They truly were very courageous - there was no GPS there was no come and save me. Quite a feat to win.
