prefer the Bay but could also consider town along the river - reasonable rent only - "rustic" is fine sometimes-depending-this is Mexico still
have noisy neighbors where I am right now so really looking for a peaceful spot

Playa Buenaventura may be the answer. They have some beach houses for rent.
