From the CBS website:

In the northern state of Baja California Sur, prosecutors said in a statement that marines responding Saturday night to reports of gunfire in San Jose del Cabo came upon heavily armed men wearing tactical vests and riding in two vehicles with license plates from the U.S. state of California.

Police officers arrive near where an exchange of gunfire took place between residents and members of a local, self-appointed community police force which according to local media, left 11 dead in La Concepcion

Both vehicles sped off with the marines in pursuit and subsequently crashed, the statement said. In two separate exchanges of gunfire, all seven of the cars' occupants were shot dead by marines.

Baja California Sur has also seen an explosion of violence as the Sinaloa and Jalisco New Generation cartels battle for territory in the state. In late December, four bodies were found hanging from highway overpasses in the resort-studded Los Cabos area

Lots of that going around....

Confrontations in the streets are the culmination of a huge investment in highly organized conflict. Between Merida Initiative funding and programs like Fast and Furious and Gun Walking, US funds and promotes both sides of a highly organized drug war, like Iran Contra of the past, ISIS or in Afghanistan today, factions for and against create instability that fuels corruption for profit and control.

Well theres a Confusing over simplification of the problem! A mixture of old news and imagination...

It's fun to ignore and make light of high calibre heavy arms fire that kills people in front of our eyes daily, then act like it's a big mystery how it happened.

Even more fun to pretend to be an expert, tho, isn't it? Challenging bullchit isn't ignoring it.....

Whoa! You got a lot of conspiracy theories mixed up there!

re guns, the USA gun manufacturers fund the NRA who in turn funds politicians. All get rich on arms trade; and the victims are our children, bystanders on the street, and democracy itself.

Re Mexico, drugs are big money, and Mexico has a govt built on patronage. Money and politicians are mixed up,together. Nothing will change until the citizens stage an intervention, a revolution to throw out the politicians and organized criminals.

Lets take it to the next level;
I'm sure the $$$ being spread around by the global cartel business model will be fine tuned in the upcoming Davos global economic forum.

As long as humans have been around the desire for experiencing an altered state exists, the smart ones have used this reality in many ways through out history.
Sorry, gotta go and chase some demons away

HaHa. Yes. Sure. Those evil manufacturers and the NRA, they like killing children. I just checked. None of my guns went on a rampage, again this week. But go ahead and blame inanimate objects! And pretend Obama didn't export guns to mexico in an effort to demonize guns just to invent a reason to ban them.

I'll keep my liberties. Thank you.
