Plan on getting a guide for fishing in BOLA the last week in March. several are listed in the Bahia de Los Angeles .info site. anyone have personal experience, preferecnces prices, do's don'ts etc for a good trip?
thanks
(only plan one day on a boat, other I plan on shore fishing / snorkelling)

I highly recommend Igor Galvan who can be booked through Guillermo's.

Do and Don'ts? Listen to your Captain. People hire him for his expertise and then won't listen to his recommendations

Base your tip on the service he provides, not on how well the fish were biting or how well you did.

Fish for what is available at the time you go. Not just what you want to catch.

Look, listen and learn. Every fishing spot in Baja have different methods that work for them and their area. Pay attention to what they are doing and why. You'll become a better angler

Remember it is a day on the water in the Sea of Cortez. Catching is incidental!

I think the last week of March is Semana Santa. It get's crazy busy/packed throughout Baja during that time. Others may have insight specific to BOLA.

Try Daggetts as well. I hear all operations are raising prices so be forewarned. Rates range from $150-$380+. Cheaper is not better.

Igor has been there forever. Speaks fluent English.

Semana Santa and two weeks Dec 23 through Jan 6 are the times to dig in and not go anywhere near shoreline. Camps and hotels will be packed too.

Bullchit. $400 is ridiculous.

Fkk... have been every year or so for the last 5-6 years. Not playing close to $400 to go out on the water.

Igor x4. He took me and some other dirt biker buddies out on our rest day fishing. We didn't know chit about fishing. He caught us some bait, set up our rigs. We caught lots of fish and saw some whales. The cook at Guillermo's (Igor's father) cooked us up a feast and made ceviche too.
I've seen my best sunrises at Guillermo's too. The rooms are right on the beach.
