There was one important point that was inaccurate in the History Channel blurb on US-Mexican relations. The legal status of Texas was not murky at
all. It was a part of Mexico. This is a pretext to justify the blatanly illegal actions of illegal aliens from the United States who had no legal
right to be in Texas. Most of the participants in the so-called Texas revolution were only recent arrivals in Texas, who expected that they would
receive virtually free land in violation of Mexican law. The majority of the so-called heroes of the Alamo had only arrived in Texas within the last
few months before the fall of the fort converted from a mission. There were several underlying causes for the revolution, including the desire of
Anglo-Americans to introduce large scale slavery into Texas and land speculation by companies in the United States that generally had questionable
rights to the land that they were selling to Americans who wanted to move to Texas.

Hello Academicanarchist, I do not want to appear as if I do not value your expertise on the subject, it?s just that I would like to have either a link
or a reference to the information pertaining to the land speculation by businesses in Mexican Texas. It does sound like an abuse that would fray the
situation. I?ve always trusted the big guys: PBS, THC, and such. Thank you, Packoderm ps, if you speak Spanish, could you please go to the Spanish
page and proof-read my short list of sentences?
