Hi Nomads,
Ive been a permanent resident now for over 5 years, next step is to become naturalized, get Mex passport, etc...
Just curious if anyone has hired assistance in the Baja Sur area. I hear horror stories of applying in La Paz ( graveyard for immigration ). I also read about flying to the DF, using Mr Pineda and doing it. Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated. I would prefer to pay attorney or service to complete and assist the process.
Thanks

i don't have a suggestion for you. but, i have no doubt that you will be best served by selecting the right guy for your services. i get the impression there are a bunch of hacks who don't have the "downtown connections" they claim to have. please post your results, or PM me if you find good service. good luck.

We used Pineda and he is awesome. He will only speak to you in Spanish.

When we were in the immigration office in Mexico City, the woman who handled my paperwork said " You have the most organized attorney, we enjoy working with him."

I became a citizen first: Went to Mexico City, Pinedo picked us up at the airport and he took us to a building where I had to go up stairs with a looooooooooooong like of folks. About 15 minutes later, my name was called and I was given my police paperwork saying I had nothing filed against me.

If you want more info, I can tell the rest of the story but suffice it to say that it went so smoothly and if you are over 60, they just ask for basic Spanish: sit here, sign here, what do you like about Mexico?, why do you want to be a citizen?

I had to take a test, which I studied for, and passed with flying colors!
