typical Mexican engineering.

Quote:
Despite the groundbreaking ceremony, the project’s developers say they still have several steps before they can start construction. The state still needs a federal permit for the use of sea water. And the private developer, Aguas de Rosarito, needs a federal permit for concentrated discharge of residual water from the plant,

Except it's not a Mexican enterprise. The operators will be from the Cayman Islands, the capital is gringo, and the designers are French.

is desal really needed ?
is there sufficient water available currently ?

if not, seems like a good idea no matter what nationality the builders are. before getting started and after all the clearances, A BIG BOND.

seems they've been having trouble in tijuana forever getting rid of what their water situation created...SEWAGE !

I believe first things first, maybe a sewage plant ?

Desal is very expensive water

willardguy - 3-25-2018 at 11:16 PM

it would be foolish not to present your concerns to the governor before they go and spent a gripload of peso's on a bogus project. im sure they'll appreciate your input ;)

The Cape seems to build as if water supply is limitless,
at the end of a narrow 800 mi. peninsula with sea water on 3 sides. The desal plant in Carlsbad, is said, optimistically, to supply 7%, probably more like 4, of
SD Counties water. In Ensenada, it takes 1/2 hr. longer to
fill water trucks from well, due to the water level dropping

Not to Be Unexpected

But I have been hearing lots of comments that Kiko Vega is just lining his pockets.

I do hope this is not true.

After visiting la presa in tj I’m all for it. It’s depressing that la presa is a main water source for a lot of people.

aguachico - 3-27-2018 at 09:00 AM

There are Desal plants all over the peninsula, no?

That LPG plant went in smoothly, I wonder how much in brides the needed permits will cost them? Cart before the horse...

Brides ?
