Here's an article on our trip to Baja last year we wrote for Winnebago's blog -

Well done - a fun read.

Race-wise, you saw the San Felipe 150 Desert Mayhem -- the SF250 is coming up in another week.

StuckSucks - Thanks. This was last year's 250 race. More pics on our blog - http://www.awaywewinnebago.com/sanfelipe250/

We are down here now and looking forward to this year's 250.

Nice report... Thanks for sharing with us!

If I were to offer any advice:

The FMM is required for any trip into Mexico now (new rule the past couple years and no more Border Zone exemption as before)... It is free if your stay is no more than7 days (but must be returned when leaving Mexico). The pay (180 day) FMM can be kept for any trips during the 180 days then trashed.

The military checkpoints do NOT ask to see FMM or passports as a rule. Perhaps there was an immigration officer there, or maybe you just assumed they wanted to see them and handed them over?

David K - Thanks. Your info is correct. I didn't catch the edit on military checkpoints but we never had to show our passports or FMMs at them. This year we had no problem getting the FMM ahead of time in Algodones and I see they removed the wording about it being good for only one entry and exit. Who would want to go to Baja for no more than 7 days?;)

Agree... but some of us are not as free to enjoy Baja as long as others! Keep up the good work amigo!
