Did not stop at Percebu. South of Percebu the southbound traffic was very heavy.

Why do Mexicans enjoying THEIR beaches bum out gringos so much?:?:

rts551 - 3-31-2018 at 08:30 AM

Their beaches...how dare you. This is a gringo playground....

advrider - 3-31-2018 at 08:58 AM

We were there last weekend and several places said they close up because it is such a madhouse. People will set up tents on the side streets for the weekend.

Crowds of people, any crowds, are what 'bum' me, their nationality does not matter one bit. That's why I have 4WD in Baja because on holiday weekends, this is where I can go:

Yes indeed, we are guests, and lucky at that. Doesn't look
like much playa, with the full moon tonite

Then why are you always posting directions and maps and encouraging more tourists?

Because Baja is God's (or Mother Nature's) gift to mankind and there still are people unaware of the beauty and magic that is so uplifting about Baja. There is plenty of room for Baja to play host to a few visitors for a few days every year or so... plenty to share. There will always be the fear enhanced by Fake News and Fox News, alike to deter the masses who visited Baja in much greater numbers in the 1980s than today. No matter how much I write or how many photos and maps I post, there will only be a tiny percent who will actually come south. Most who come to Nomad are traveling only on their PC.

YES! The climate is great in San Diego County, but the cost to live here and the crowds on the freeways are too much. If we could we would move! Sad because I have lived near San Diego for all but 3 years of my 60!

Drone shot from yesterday. It's the gringo-apocalypse -

I know. I left No. San diego Co. in the 80s after living there since 1956. It was getting overcrowded then. I can´t believe it now when I visit family.

La Ribera is a total chitchow this year too. Last time we were here for Semana Santa (four years back) it wasn't nearly this crazy.

The police were at the edge of town (by the Oxxo) yesterday marshaling people through towards the beach. They weren't allowing any more parking on the beach, however, as it had filled up already on Thursday PM.

I'd guess there are around 5,000 people on the beaches here and stretching south towards Pulmo.

Whatever, I went fishing yesterday and will go again this evening. The concerts on the beach provide a nice soundtrack when I'm on the water. :D

Does the music bring in the fish? :-) :-)

DanO - 4-1-2018 at 11:48 PM

These hard working people let loose big time on Semana Santa. So what? They have every right to go to their own beach towns to party, whether it offends our delicate American sensibilities or not. It's not worse than it used to be, it just is what it is. Get over it. If you're offended, go somewhere else.
