Surely fake news!

chuckie - 4-7-2018 at 07:57 PM

Three bodies have been found between Mulege and Santispac. Police say all executed and dumped on or close to Hiway 1. We all know that cant be true, right? Such things never happen or are discussed on THIS forum....

mtnpop - 4-7-2018 at 08:33 PM

Actually, we have a neighbor that was headed to Posada yesterday and the highway was blocked by constables in that area, when she drove by she did see one body partially covered at the edge of the highway and when returning 3 hours later still there... waiting for something.
We have not heard what this might have been but pretty sure a local will be able to tell us soon.
She didn't see any sign of an accident around the area.
didn't think much about it until you posted this.... guess we are trying to stay sheltered in our little world...

I got this from one of my ex neighbors who had stopped to offer Medical assistance...Its covered pretty well over on TB..Maybe see yiu at the Gathering in Westcliffe in August? We'll be staying at the Antlers...stay well..

Stories like this should be treated like fake news, until the OP comes up with an associated new article, that are almost always in the local press, so we could all read the details of alleged tragic incident.

Secondly, even if the story is true, so what?

Does anybody really care if those in the drug trade are killing each other over turf battles? ( up to 90% of these killings are drug related)

Now lets get back to drinking margaritas at the pool with this nice weather.

I like to know what is going on so I can decide for myself it is a personal concern. Thanks for the post!

pacificobob - 4-9-2018 at 07:16 AM

YES! mexico is dangerous in the extreme! only the american midwest remains relatively safe. organize an exodus convoy and go north asap.

Boy would that be a wake up call 1st thing in the morning driving by dos cabezas :?:

mtnpop - 4-9-2018 at 09:39 AM

There is no KM66 north of Mulege, KM66 would be south 1/2 way to Loreto......
KM starts at Loreto and goes north to Sta. Rosalia...ascending.....

Why do I know this, just on the road to Sta. Rosalia yesterday and the KM markers go up from Mulege to Sta. Rosalia...

No scuttlebutt around town "mulege" about any of this that we are hearing yet... of course a lot of us are in the dark most of the time...

chuckie - 4-9-2018 at 09:44 AM

Pacificobob (stupidname) is another smart mouth that just doesn't get it....It IS a dangerous place right now, and people need to be informed....Denial doesn't change facts.....

I don’t understand the stupidity of constantly comparing what happens in Mexico to the violence in LA or Chicago and mocking any concern an alert to potentially hazardous conditions in Paradise may have. Some people would rather be aware of conditions around them without keeping their heads in the sand.

pacificobob - 4-9-2018 at 11:19 AM

got it. now i'm frightened. better?

chuckie - 4-9-2018 at 03:02 PM

You don't need to impress us with sarcasm or be frightened..Be aware of whats going on....enough

BajaBill74 - 4-9-2018 at 03:28 PM

Mulege is at KM 135/136. So, KM 122 should be about right for Santispac.

Pacificobob..YES from Kansas after living in Mulege for almost 35 years..Whats your claim to fame, smartass?

pacificobob - 4-10-2018 at 07:15 AM

that is certainly quite a feat.. given the hazards associated. you are very justified in your sense of accomplishment. be assured, in the future, i will try to remember to defer to you regarding all things related to living in mexico. i'll assume you returned to the safety of the north due to the weakness associated with advanced age? i hope you enjoy your golden years in safety.
