Jack Cole Memorial Service ( Founder SkipJack boats)

Hi Nomads

There is a memorial service at the American Legion in Newport Beach on Saturday at 11:30am.
Jack Cole founded SkipJack in the 60's at a time when there weren't many decent Pacific ocean fishing boats.
He specialized in boats that were trailerable for Baja but were still very seaworthy offshore.

I am a Newport Beach representative for SkipJack now.
I report to Nick Adams, owner, of SkipJack and a longtime friend of Jack Cole.
SkipJack has 3 models currently in production including a 38 sportfisher.
I am trying to organise some demo fishing trips out to Catalina, San Clemente and Cortez Bank.
If you have any intestest please let me know.
The best way to honor the legacy left to us by Jack is to fish hard on his boat the way he would if he were still able.
Have a genuine interest in buying a boat, be a good fisherman, and be ready to share the expense of operating this incredible boat. The last designed by Jack.
It will be worth it.
Let's go catch some nice fish. And see the magnificant Pacific Ocean the way it should be seen.
Mike B

Are they still building the iconic 26 Skip?

I'm trying to run some 4 and 6pack trips on the 26 and 30 respectively.
Bluefin are almost in range.
I would love to try and trailer the 26 and see if it is still possible. That was part of it's original design. To be the biggest boat you could tow to Baja.

An example of just how amazing Jack was is his son Jack Jr.'s trip in an early Skipjack 20.
He crusied from San Filepe to East Cape in November 1967.
One can only imagine what that was like. I'm guessing there was plenty of fish.
