I was afraid to watch. I am a big TP188 fan from way back when he was an MX Racer.
But now I can watch😊

great way to honor the late EK,always been a big TP fan there were some hardcore fans there braving that 106 or so temp, didn't think Knoxville was gonna make it

David K - 7-9-2018 at 04:08 PM

TW, is this Travis the same person whose Trophy Truck burned to the ground near Camp Gecko in the 2006 Baja 1000?

Photos of it burning were posted back then. We saw it on the trailer in L.A. Bay, the day after the race went through...

blackwolfmt - 7-9-2018 at 04:30 PM

Yeah that was the Nitro Circus TT

willardguy - 7-9-2018 at 05:11 PM

Grand Canyon next??????

TMW - 7-9-2018 at 05:19 PM

Or maybe the Snake River that Evil tried and failed.

I think Travis was the first to do a back flip on a motocross motorcycle then a double back flip. He's done a lot of crazy stuff, he and Evil Knievel were cut from a different cloth. Travis hasn't broken anywhere near as many bones as Evil.

Yes it has been but this event was to kick off Car Week on the History Channel and was a tribute to Evil Knievel's leaps. Thus the type of motorcycle used and the outfit Travis wore.

motoged - 7-10-2018 at 11:35 AM

Fashion: NOT wearing any pro under his tighty whitey outfit...pretty confident guy

Engineering: ....and promoting Indian....since HD is tanking.

del mar - 7-10-2018 at 11:41 AM

screw HD....hope Indian sells a crapload of these twins!

motoged - 7-10-2018 at 11:56 AM

HD...a t-shirt company that also sells bikes on the side....

That Indian 750 would be a good hooligan bike...if it wasn't for the price:

willardguy - 7-10-2018 at 12:20 PM

wait a minute....without HD what would cops and firemen ride? what with their cute little leather vests and those adorable bandana's!

I have asked motocops in California if they prefer the BMW or the HD....and most preferred the beemer for riding and handling...and the HD for parades as they lug better.

Yeah....the pirate outfits....unique individuality....the wannabees now like those skeleton face masks....kinda juvenile isn't it?

BajaTed - 7-10-2018 at 04:06 PM

Been to Switzerland or Austria lately?? fave bikes of the educated rich euros are HD's.
The ride to die, live to ride lifestyle and clothing associated is the draw.

Baby boomer baggers and choppers are all that's left here in the states.:(
The business model here has died, don't blame HD one bit

bajatrailrider - 7-11-2018 at 07:37 AM

Its ture all the LAPD and Chips I ride dirt bikes with. love the BMW for work. For me when I rode street rode a HD XR1000 . Had wet eyes when I sold it knowing never would be able to get another.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evel_Knievel
During his career, Knievel may have suffered more than 433 bone fractures,[25] earning an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records as the survivor of "most bones broken in a lifetime".[1] However, this number could be exaggerated: his son Robbie told a reporter in June 2014 that his father had broken 40 to 50 bones; Knievel himself claimed he broke 35.

In the 20 years Travis Pastrana has been pummeling motorcycles, he’s broken more than 60 bones, survived 25 concussions and, in the process, become the most celebrated motocross freestyler of all time....If you take Evel Knievel’s life and multiply it by 10, you’ll get Travis Pastrana’s. And he’s just 24 years old.

Travis stopped to meet Coco early this year and dropped a few hundies. A real class act. Plus, he is still building on his resume.
