I hadnt heard that. I thought he was going to allow anyone who applies at a legal border checkpoint to apply for asylum, under the normal procedures.
Those who try and cross illegally in the desert, dont get to claim asylum. That makes sense to me.
Follow the rules. Is that so hard to understand?
I have great empathy for these people and am no fan of The Donald, but there is a procedure to all this that needs to be followed. If you attempt to
cross illegally and THEN want to claim asylum when you are caught, that's just an attempt to circumvent the existing rules FIRST. That's not fair to
the immigrants that play by the rules to begin with.
Seriously, if your first act in a new country is breaking the law, how willing will you be to respect other laws? |
