Satellite Launch

bajaguy - 12-7-2018 at 05:10 PM

If the weather permits, there will be a launch of a satellite from Vandenberg Air Force Base California at approximately 8pm this evening.

Depending on your location in Baja and cloud cover you may be able to see the launch trail and possibly first stage separation.

Live coverage should start here at 7:59pm..... https://www.ulalaunch.com/missions/delta-iv-nrol-71

Not a cloud in the sky here in Carlsbad. Awesome! Missed the last one.

Will we be able to see it from Ensenada area?

John Harper - 12-8-2018 at 06:35 PM

I think most launches are to the south, and the Delta 4 rocket is a pretty big one. If it's clear I would think so. Looks to be on schedule for 8:05.

NRO means it's a big spy satellite. Don't tell anyone.

Ted, on a previous launch, Shari took photos of it in Asuncion. Naturally, each one is different but I suspect you will see it well.
