new Google Earth images

with the last update of Google Earth imagery a successful "Gardner Pass" attempt became visible.
Looks like MC to me
finally!

I had it on my short list, but my wheelchair slowed me down

29°18'51.35"N, 113°54'14.57"W

on the downside - many of the previous image sets have been eliminated
previous images with drought vegetation made otherwise invisible trails visible
they are gone
bummer!

Tell us more about the "Gardner Pass." Drop us a track.

GE lets you go back to older sets of imagery. Look at the bottom towards the left.

point is that some of those older images on Google are no longer offered in their data base - but they have added some new ones

That is out in the middle of nowhere. About 10 miles above the Window Rock trail.

Where you coming from and going?

it was one of the famous Gardner adventures
to find access to Arroyo Salsipuedes
you start in the dry lake bed
famous stuff

we had some guys here on the forum who turned around at the marker i provided

Baja is full of that stuff, but everyone rides to Mike's
like I-5 to Vegas and call it an adventure

We call it a big adventure or turn tail and run yet the old Spaniards and Indians lived it every day. What a difference 200 years makes.

no, the old Spaniards did not live it all day
the maps are a perfect indicator
when arroyos, mesas and mountains have no names, the Spaniards were not active there
this area has very few names for anything

but it has 2 mysterious airstrips without trail access
so someone after the Spaniards was active there

there is a possible single track around the La Botica waterfall Gardner gad problems with

but you can easily get over to Arroyo Salsipuedes and drive down to the coast
heck, you can do a La Botica Salsipuedes loop
lotsa palm trees and water in Arroyo Salsipuedes

I am still in a wheelchair - otherwise I would have done this in my rig some time ago

here are the two airstrips that have captured my mind for a while
possible Gardner creations, but no documentation available
29°14'28.27"N, 113°57'43.21"W
and
29°23'37.10"N, 114° 4'3.44"W

no trails or roads nearby
