Mulege Book

wandamott - 2-10-2019 at 10:30 AM

I am looking for a book on Mulege called MULEGE Baja Sur Mexico. It was written by Kerrt G Otterstrom back in 1992. I had a copy years ago but I loaned it out to someone and never got it back. If anyone has a copy that I could buy, I would sure appreciate it. We live in Canada and use to go to Mulege every winter for 5 - 6 month back in the 90's. Went for 23 winters but now we are too old to go so I wanted to read this book again to bring back memories. Email me if you like at wrmott@shaw.ca Thanks...Walt

here you go - the only one I could find

If the link does not work, go to www.addall.com then search in the used book section using the author's last name and "mulege" -

Thanks David and John. Info from John was complete but when I looked it up I found that they want $45.00 Us plus tax and shipping. Totalling about $65.00 Canadian. That is too much for my pocket book but again I thank you for all your info.

Maybe here?

This website says you can read or download the book.

Never heard of the site, but maybe...?

If there are some parts of the book you would like to see, I can scan pages but with 160 in total, not the whole book. My copy came from Choral Pepper and it is autographed by Kerry on 3-16-93.

As for the price they are asking for a copy of this book: I would justify the price like this... a nice dinner for two costs more than what this book costs and it will give you far more pleasure than just the one meal.

Here are three pages from inside the book:

Well, dang, we had one also that we got off Amazon several years ago. not to be found so guessing we also loaned it out to a newbie in town and guess what, no longer in our possession... but that's the way things go sometimes...

It may be too much now for some who were holding the Mexicans in slave labor camps in Canada

Sorry, couldn't help it although it has nothing to do with the post, But really, $65 bucks is too much?. They must be the Canadians who live in the arroyo for 6 months free and poop in a hole on our beach

While I am still in a few boxes since moving here, you would be welcome to come over Mike... I have most of my Baja library on shelves, including that Mulegé book.

Thanks for posting the pages about the Yee family, David. When in Mulegé last month, I spoke with Delia Yee about her family's history. In the back of their store, they keep a small museum with artifacts.

Her grandfather José Yee, who came from Canton, China in 1907:

Her father, also named José Yee. Delia said he was a wonderful father, kind and gentle, and every year at Christmas he prepared dinner for all the inmates at the Mulegé prison. He is 96 years old now, and lives across the street from the store with his wife (93 years old).
