Whale watch tours in San Ignacio

thebajarunner - 3-7-2019 at 03:25 PM

Finally talked my kids into going there at end of March
Last time I was there we just drove out to the lagoon, found a small operation, signed on and were on the water in minutes.
No reservations
No hassle
Great outing

So, wondering if that still works or if they need some specific direction as to getting set up for a half day outing.

Advice on which group might be best,
also reasonably economical
Not looking for a "package tour"
Just a day outing

The pavement reached (KM 47+) to 5 miles from the shore of the lagoon, the whale operations are just a bit further south. The unpaved miles were as good as a dirt road can get. Let me know, please, if the paving has extended any since I was there in late 2017.

it sure works. You can prebook with Kuyima or other groups or simply drive out.

I went with Antonio's and had a great time, got to touch a gray and we saw 25-30 individual whales in 90 minutes. If/when I do it again I'd stay in San Ignacio and drive to/from the lagoon.

David K - your map is accurate to within a couple km. I think the signage said 15km of dirt.
