Bummer, but he did leave some great music.
I just listened to this the other night . I was turning on a young lad from Argentina that was couch-surfing with me. ( he loved the music )

Saw the good doctor in '68 shortly after his first album ''Gris Gris'' came out, Fillmore West, San Francisco. That album is timeless.
