Nice!
Hope all had a good day.
While we missed going to Baja this week, the wife and I had a nice day at the pool and were just relaxing.

TMW - 7-5-2019 at 09:53 AM

I watched the Independence Day show on PBS last night and I thought it was great. So many talented artist. The lady with the violin act was something
else, really fantastic.

Howard got me. Now corrected.

The English language, amazing what one little letter will do.

Now that's pretty funny. How upset was that violinist?

to deny that the US was founded on slavery and genocide is just ignorant.
most of the suburban-raised americans were raised on a real crock of s##t
regarding the early history of the country.
i recently viewed a video of my grandson reciting the pledge of allegiance to receive a free ice cream cone.
my allegiance to the US fizzled while in viet nam, and has continued to diminish since. if you dare, read..

To deny the US hasn't lifted more people out of poverty than any other country in the history of mankind is utter ignorance. Nothing is perfect, and Monday quarterbacking over 200 years is worse than ignorant.

Every time I look at the flag I see rows of aluminum caskets on the tarmac, lined up behind a C 141 Starlifter aircraft covered in Old GORY, waiting for their final ride back to The World.

Vote for Pedro!

Love this Country , not so much the Government..... (note, not a jab at Trump. I'm talking about the whole capitalist system )

I think that most Vietnam Vets don't feel so kindly towards the Government.

It's ALL about the money ...............Well, and power....

TMW - 7-6-2019 at 11:13 AM

I found this article in today's paper interesting.

SFandH - 7-6-2019 at 11:29 AM

OPINION

Like it says at the top of the page in big bold letters.

I'm sure many would disagree. Especially African-Americans.

Yeah that opinion piece is laughable, and I doubt most Blacks, Latinos, or Asians would agree with it, especially since all those groups continue to vote democrat is high numbers, and see the GOP party has hostile to them.

There is still not the fact very few blacks and Latinos get into colleges like UCLA mentioned in the opinion piece, and although Asians do get into those kinds of colleges, they rarely are allowed to become part of senior management.

For our long Fourth weekend we visited the Eastern Sierras -- water (and snow) are in no shortage.

Horseshoe Lake

Saddlebag Lake

Tuolumne River; Pothole Dome

Tioga Lake

Convict Lake

David K - 7-10-2019 at 04:49 PM

Very nice Jim... We are going to Sequoia Nat'l Park next month for our daughter's wedding. It should be very nice, even if it is the opposite direction from Baja!

Thanks Bubba and David -- apologies for no political squabbling.

I have been know to give money and goods to all sorts of charities and individuals. From habitat for humanity to St Jude to homeless shelters to some guy who just wants money for a beer. I don't discriminate. I believe in peace, love and the American way. You should try it, it may eliminate some of your built up hate.

Also over the weekend, I was lucky enough to ride the Lower Rock Creek Trail which runs from below Tom's Place, down to Paradise, CA. The trail descends 2,000' in eight miles following Rock Creek. A couple shots of the trail:
