My Son the Doctor!!!

lizard lips - 11-27-2019 at 08:31 AM

My boy became a licensed physician last year and now has been accepted to do his residency at the General Hospital in Hermosillo for four years so at the end of that time he will be a Orthopedic Surgeon and I can get that hip replacement for a discount. He graduated at the medical school here in Ensenada. It's been a long journey for his mother and I and especially him and we are so proud. So lucky to have a great son and to watch him meet and exceed his goals.

My Son the Bum

My Bastard Son was problem child from the start, dropped out of high school in the 10th. grade. Started dealing weed then became a heroin attic. Got three different girls pregnant so now I'm a Grandfather 5 times over. Got in with a bad gang then shot and killed a man , was sent to jail for 25 years .
Got out and with no job or education or training at all. Went on welfare and then ends up winning the State lottery and is now a millionaire,

I'm SO proud !!!!

But seriously, Congratulation is in order as to become a Doctor is such a HUGE accomplishment and takes a super high level of commitment and hard work !!

Congratulations Dan!!!
You have every right to be proud of him.
It is good to see you posting again here on Nomad, too.
Happy Thanksgiving.

I don't know what to say Paco. It takes time for some of us to see that the road of life has twists and turns and finally you get back on track. Both the wife and I got really lucky but if it weren't for his goals and determination I don't know what could have happened.

Thanks David! I read Nomad a lot but have been really busy with work and Santiago I will write this book one day. I have had more encounters with people from other countries than I can remember and 99% have been great.

I have been to all of the Mexican States and have returned to many a lot but Mexico has changed so much in the 25 years of my travels. Has it gotten better? Yes-For some, but the poverty is still in your face.

I have lived in Mex now for 33 years and the only advise I can give to someone who is thinking about living here full time is treat everyone with respect and you will get it back ten fold.

What an accomplishment! Nothing but respect for people that go into a profession that requires so much work and time, they have a true calling.. Will he be giving a nomad discount when we need some new parts? LOL...
