Just crossed. Tecate to El Rosario

I left Phoenix at about 3AM Sunday morning.
Sundays are my favorites for getting through traffic when I can't/won't take the "shortcut" through San Felipe to Laguna Chapala.

Crossed the border 10AM after grabbing 2 hours sleep near Yuma. I already had gotten my FMM, so no delays.
Got the red light at customs, the lone woman there had me pop open my trailer and sent me on my way, despite a truckload of crap.

By 5PM, checked into my favorite El Rosario motel.

The road was good, despite the usual shallow potholes.
Traffic was fine, despite what I call the "100 stops" along the route.
A 25-minute delay for construction 10 miles north of Erindira.
Weaved around rockslide remnants before that.
Lots of sand in the road from flooding in places.
Lots of standing water at the sides

I was hoping to take the route through San Felipe, but couldn't get a road report on time.
Towing a small trailer with 6" ground clearance.

The road is fine and only 2.5 miles of unpaved highway south of Gonzaga was the latest report. Sorry you didn't see it. I do like staying in El Rosario, but just don't like all the towns and city traffic in Ensenada using Hwy. 1.

Here is a post on Nov. 15: http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=93572

When you get your FMM on line don't you still have to go in and get it stamped? What is your final destination?

Yes, must stop at border to get stamped. The online form is tedious, easier and faster to fill in paper form at border.
The CBX has super-quick system that prints your filled-in FMM after getting info from scan of your passport, so no data entry required.

Goat is correct!
If you get a pre-paid one at the club or get one online, you still must STOP at the INM desk at the border and have it stamped. So much easier to just get it there since you are parked and out of your car, anyway.

I got my FMM ten days ago when I bought olive oil.

Meanwhile, two flat tires (punctures) north of Guerrero Negro.
So I'm having a typical Baja trip.
Three out of five ATMs didn't work in Vizcaino.
Blah blah blah.

I'm in an arroyo waiting out the early evening yahoos.
I'll do the Santa Rosalia to Mulege in the dark, later.

Just stay at the La Huerta hotel (just past the mission) in San Ignacio... Cheap and nice! It is a great deal and our "Baja Cactus-like" go to spot in Baja Sur.

My god there were tons of dark cows out last night!
Ended up camping on the Tres Virgenes road.

About to go down the Agua Verde road in a couple of hours.
Will report when I come out in a few days.
