Naked and Afraid Baja Episode is coming soon

David K - 2-7-2020 at 10:19 PM

The episode filmed west of San Felipe along the San Pedro Mártir mountain range will be in the next season that begins later this February. There was like a 2 second shot of two walking in the desert along with other locations while we were watching Gold Rush.

Did my own version of the show in 76' on a surfboard in Costa Rica. The fear part came the next day when I couldn't even put my trunks on due to a severe sunburn in unprotected areas. My only solution was to wear nothing but a towel for a few days.
Wonder how the show participants will avoid this in the Baja desert sun?
Sorry...I wrote 'the Baja'. :o

It's okay, you said "The Baja Desert ..." making it an adjective instead of a noun! LOL
It's not just any desert, it's the Baja Desert!

Naked and afraid?

AKgringo - 2-8-2020 at 10:52 AM

That could be the description of a Nomad orgy! Given the average age of those posting regularly, I would be very afraid of such a prospect! :wow:

Naked Nomad sighting;
That would make at least one bad day in Baja

Beautiful background scenery of Diablo Canyon and Picacho del Diablo. Sad that there were so many contrived scenes.
Nicely graded dirt roads approaching the area. No, those were not "wild horses". They belong to a rancher. Edited sounds of "coyotes" about to attack at night. Sounded like rottweilers, not any coyote I ever met. BS to 120 F.! Wasn't this filmed in April? 90 - 95 F. maybe. When she picked up a large bone, there was a thick (1/2"?) wire rope (cable) on the ground. The promo description said "scarce water". I suppose they were too lazy to walk a few minutes up the canyon to the swimming hole.
Well, that's a "reality show". It's unfortunate, they could have kept it real and still entertaining. How about a naked ascent of Picacho del Diablo for a future episode?

With the Coroavirus in full swing,

Looks like a REAL "Naked and afraid" could really actually when some desperate Mexicans high-jack some unsuspecting Gringo's , strip them down , take all of their possessions and leave then out in the dessert , "Naked and afraid"

Film at 11:00

The word the is considered a definite article because it defines the meaning of a noun as one particular thing. :]

There was an episode that was on last nite, only for 30 min., the woman tweaked an ankle day 3, the guy lasted a day more.
Obviously filmed near San Felipe, backdrop of the mtns.
There sure wouldn't be much to eat there. Coyotes were
were the made to be the main threat, I suppose some Gringos
would be a tasty meal. Cruz Rojo was the support. A
rather wimpy effort

Back to the show...
We DVR it (and other shows we like) to watch when we want, and fast-forward through commercials!

Watched it last night and while the two people were beat by 'the Baja', it seemed very real what they experienced. Beautiful king snake, scorpions with babies, and lots of coyotes!

It was fun to watch because we have been to the places they filmed some of the scenes at (the road along Hwy 3, the road to the lake bed, the west valley road at the foot of Diablo Mountain, south of the lake bed). It was interesting too that the locals were honoring Wornout's wife who vanished just a few weeks before the show was filmed.

I think Nomads who have camped in the desert will enjoy it.

Another great thread, never heard of this show before. They have a nice youtube channel to get caught up on. This episode is now posted @

https://youtu.be/WaJuKfCQnkA

though this is not the show channel.

I know scripted reality shows can be entertaining but far fetched too.
Of the N&A shows I've seen this is one of the best for visual beauty.
It is a interesting premise - I can see why this is a ratings hit on the male side of the demo. Only episode where no cook pot was brought or given. Give these guys credit just for bare feet in that environment.

To those in the know - curious , approx how far in from pavement would this have been set?

Before seeing the episode I thought part of the survival might have been with a cactus of some sort - possible? The large ones are protected I think.

I think they were near the south end of Diablo Dry Lake and Midway to the foot of Diablo Mountain... South of the climbing canyon, I think? To the pavement, about 20 miles... if my guesses are correct.
