A California State University that opened partially last week is sending all kids home from the dorms this weekend....I just dropped a kid off and now I’m headed back to pick her up. Thanks to all the idiots not social distancing at school......

I chose these data (active cases) because they are determined by laboratory tests taken in hospitals. The trends over time are informative.

Hmmm, that's what it says at the bottom of the page. Looks like they stopped updating the data. I'll edit my post to remove the link.

Thanks, good catch.

Why is the virus so much greater in BCS versus Norte? Population?

SFandH - 9-18-2020 at 09:39 PM

The important information to be gleaned from these numbers are the trends over time.

Look at La Paz for example. If the same hospitals reported each time, you can see a steady increase through July/August that has since subsided.

Generally, the peninsula is sort of treading water. Not getting all that worse or better the entire summer. Although the Mexicali and Tijuana numbers are low this time and there appears to be a slight decreasing trend in the infection rate overall.

It could have exploded. Fortunately it didn't

I did this for myself. I'd go to the referenced webpages, look at the numbers, and wouldn't know what to think. Without a perspective over time, you can't answer the simple question, are things getting better, staying the same, or worse?

Based upon these numbers, I don't have any problem going to BCS for the winter. If the numbers were climbing rapidly, I'd stay home.

AKGringo The issue is that the thread is sharing data points that are largely demonstrably invalid, by all counts.

If the poster wants to share the links and images, it is their option, as it is mine to share sourced data showing that Mexico is at the bottom of the scale of testing, currently officially about 11,000 unvalidated tests yet shows among the highest rate per capita of infections of CV19, numbers not based on verified data.

Many cases have been reported of falsified CV19 test results in BCS to date, absolute chaos in ISSSTE from lack of equipment, medicine and staff.

Today BCS is reported as practically the highest per capita rate of infection in the world, yet, there are few people demonstrably ill, and no case of validated CV19 infection.

The falsified data is causing extreme harm to mental, physical and economic health.

This is an open forum, you are free to disregard my messages, simply pass over them. Your desire to restrict dialogue is suspicious as are the extreme personal attacks by your fantom virus promoters.

We live in BCS, we want the truth, we will share sourced data to share the truth. There is no validated pandemic anywhere in the world not in BCS, while there is demonstrated collusion to cause severe harm by Biopharma.

It's all coming out now, everyday another card falls. It's over Johnny!

Here in the USA, the data set is increasing, and the statistics are getting more accurate.

Covid-19 looks to have an infection fatality rate of 0.65%, or in other words is about 6-times more deadly than seasonal flu.

Cofid-19 is on track to be the third leading cause of death this year, behind heart disease and cancer, and ahead of accidents, chronic lung diseases and stroke.

For you disease deniers, Here is an interesting chart, from paper in Nature This month...

[Edited on 9-21-2020 by mtgoat666]

BajaMama - 9-21-2020 at 01:17 PM

MTGoat that is exactly correct - excess deaths is the only way to really measure the impact of a pandemic since so many countries have such inaccurate counts of cases or deaths caused from covid. Also, evidence that Covid-19 is deadlier is the number of deaths caused from it - so far we have 4 times the number of deaths caused either directly from the flu or deaths caused by complications of the flu (AKA pre-existing conditions) in a bad flu year and we are only 6 months in. I shudder to see what is going to happen when winter comes and everyone wants their liberty, but indoors.

Maybe. The problem is that flu has a high number of mild and asymptomatic infections that are not accounted for by the CDC, which rely on hospitalizations instead. Doctors are not concerned with mild cases of flu. There was an article in July with an estimates of total flu infections (including mild ones missing in statistics), they concluded that Covid was at least 50 times deadlier: https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/2020/07/coronavir...

It will likely get worse in winter. In Canada where winters come sooner, some provinces are considering closing bars, indoor service in restaurants and other measures due to the 2nd wave of Covid. "Considering", meaning it may or may not come to be.

Here is an interesting article on liberties and other things: China's successful control of COVID-19.

************
“The speed of China's response was the crucial factor”, explains Gregory Poland, director of the Vaccine Research Group at the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minnesota, USA).

“Compliance was very high”, said Chen. “Compare that with the USA, where even in June and July, when the virus was surging, people were still refusing to wear masks".

“Commitment to the greater good is engrained in the (Chinese) culture; there is not the hyper-individualism that characterises parts of the USA, and has driven most of the resistance to the countermeasures against the coronavirus.” Poland noted that the Chinese accept the notion that disease control is a matter of science.

*************

In Mexico it looks same pathetic as in the USA. No anti-science movement there, no willingness of the government or resources to control the epidemic, either. Their 7-day average positivity is >20%, this means that a lot of infection goes undetected.

Weird increase in Los Cabos between the last two readings. Anybody have ideas on why the increase is so high compared to other places in the chart?

In May 2021 there were twice as many tourists (airline arrivals) in Cabo as there were in October 2020.

Compared to other places, Cabo sees most of the tourists, perhaps that's why the increase is high when compared to other places.

Testing is required for intl travel as such much more testing is readily available, mobile, pop up, in hotels, labs, antigen, per rt, etc, as well as less skilled testing, meaning errors, default high cycle threshold counts causing false positives, resulting in high numbers of "cases", while overall you can see the number of cases is very low, there is not significant actual excess deaths associated directly to covid, beyond those who are already dying from pre-existing illness.

gnukid - 6-16-2021 at 05:32 AM

FYI you can travel through TJ to CBX with no testing requirement, it's actually faster than dealing with the chaos in Cabo and 3 hour advance preflight arrival. Flying out of La Paz is very pleasant, faster, and none of the covid nonsense.

Today in California, there were parties everywhere, all day, businesses with grand openings, street fairs, all stores I visited have a no mask policy.

Smiles and handshakes and kisses everywhere, with a common understanding that we must manage our health care and never give up your decisions to Globalists with ulterior fraudulent agendas.

There will always be corrupt globalists and politicians, and they will always be trying to control and profit, while we ignore them and go about our way.

Paul,
I think here in CA only the vaccinated may be unmasked in stores, and unvaccinated must still wear masks. Calosha still requires workers to mask up.

So, did you get vaccinated? Why won’t you answer this question?

According to La Tribuna Los Cabos, cases there have risen over 200%.

Some people prefer to live in bubble, no one is required to wear masks anywhere in California and in much of the USA and the rest of the world, inside or out, people may choose to wear masks and some businesses request workers wear masks, still it's the individuals choice.

The Fauci / Gates fraud is apparent to all.

Natural biodiversity is the most superior immune response, naturally recuperated benefit from broad and specific self generated anti-bodies, t-cells, natural killers etc to address their individual unique toxins and environment providing demonstrable short and long term immunity.

Artificial computer model driven synthetic mRNA insertion gene modification is unproven though its claim is that it propagates unique specific hyper spike protein (toxin) production associated to SARS2 that has no relation to localized influenza variants since it was based on an old Chinese computer model and CAUSES immune system cytokine storm and pathogenic priming, which competes with the natural immune system's ability to respond to infection and causes thrombosis (blood clotting), plus a long series of disorders now becoming apparent.

It is absolutely unclear what reaction the vaccines will cause other than hyper spike protein production, which is a toxin, forever.

In any case, everyone must focus on actually self managing their health, with diet, nutrition, exercise, fresh air, rest, in order to improve their immune system and not expect to rely on synthetic mRNA injections to address natural occurring colds and flu which are caused by lifestyle and environment.

His was actually a logical statement, but I don't think it pertains here.

If you live in a pueblo in Baja and (1) person tests positive for SARS2 from some PCR RT lab test or is assumed positive with flu like symptoms, then recuperates and then (1) other person is assumed to have SARS2 due to flu like symptoms or is asymptomatic but tested positive from a test, THEN, that means cases increased 200%. 1+1 = 2 = 200%

Comparing total transient population in the region requires counting permanent population, plus transient by car/bus/air and factoring in propensity to be tested versus other areas to assume a cofactor coefficient to determine the comparative total population SARS2 case number. Also, take into consideration there is wide testing available yet no accurate testing exist to actually determine if SARS2 is present.

SUMMARY: SARS2 Cases are practically insignificant in BCS, while case numbers may have risen month to month. Risk is practically insignificant to general population.

There is no demonstrable lab based evidence that there exists even 1 case of SARS2 in the BCS region that matches the artificial computer model created in China in Dec 2019/Jan2020 that began the claim of global pandemic. All of the case numbers are assumed.

This pueblo does not need an antiviral idiot spreading lies and malformation they found on a Qanon site in this village.
Hope they find you and get you out quick!

We as a village of just shy of 800 people have over 40 people infected and 5 dead. Mainly because of gringos with your attitude.
Hit the road quickly and please don't breath on anyone

Hold your horses, Paul. Not even close. While masks aren't mandatory at the moment in CA, many/most businesses are requiring them. It's not optional. I'm seeing that in Colorado, too. Wear a mask if you want to do business. Don't wear one and go somewhere else.

You're painting with very broad strokes there. ''...no one is required to wear masks.... in much of the USA and the rest of the world, inside or out....''

The fact that statistics are used to promote pandemic doesn't negate the grief of loss of life.

If you had covid you have natural immunity and you would not benefit from a synthetic mRNA injection.

Let's not forget the duplicity of local politicians with their private parties and car races through the quarantine, in our pueblo more people died in Mustang drag race car crashes during during the the quarantine than of the flu.

Let's never again allow politicians to dictate personal health, or allow restrictions on liberty meanwhile fat cats are being paid to shut down churches and schools while bars are open. Disgusting what has happened, we've definitely moved on, and are well aware of the fraud.

Paul,
I think more people died of covid in your Pueblo than “mustang drag race car crashes.” I don’t have stats for Mountain View, but do see that over 2,000 died in Santa Clara County.
Tell me about the big mustang drag race car crash in Mountain View.

Glad you brought up India.

It seems it would depend on which state in India you go to. Here is a copy and paste from an article with a link to it below.
Also, India's bar association just recently, June 3rd I think, filed legal notice against the WHO and the head of the WHO for supressing how effective Ivermectin is in preventing covid.
I hope sharing facts isn't "unleashing".
😁

Begin copy/paste:
Those Indian states that adopted more aggressive Ivermectin policies saw their cases fall far more than 80%, states like Uttar Pradesh - down 98% [37,944 to 596], like Uttarakhand - down 97% [9642 to 287] and Goa - down 90% [4195 to 423]. Delhi saw a 99% drop [28,395 to 238].

Tamil Nadu, which publicly banned Ivermectin, saw their cases rise to the highest in India, and they continued setting state records until May 21, 2021, when they peaked at 36,184.
End copy/paste.

Covid is still very real in BCS. When I recently stayed at a hotel with a bunch of old folks from the US no one wore masks because all were vaccinated. But the couple of Mexicans did. Same in the community where I stay. In the towns, everyone wears a mask, inside and out. Only some of the shops were open. At the Leys they sprayed your cart and gave you hand sanitizer. Cases are on the rise in BCS and residents are concerned. The distribution of vaccines is not as efficient as it is in the US.

mtgoat666 - 6-20-2021 at 07:26 PM

TWO COVID NATIONS

The Delta coronavirus variant, which devastated India and forced the UK to delay lifting its remaining coronavirus restrictions, is now on the rise in the US. What that means for you will depend on whether you are fully vaccinated and where you live.

Experts say we may be about to see the emergence of “two Americas” of COVID: One with high rates of vaccination where the Delta coronavirus variant poses little threat, and the other with low levels of vaccination that will be vulnerable to renewed deadly surges. That divide is driven in large part by partisan politics, with vaccination rates highest in liberal cities and lowest in conservative strongholds across the Deep South and in rural areas across the nation.

“I call it two COVID nations,” said Peter Hotez, a vaccine researcher at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

Wherever there are low rates of vaccination, the virus will continue to circulate and mutate, increasing the risk that new, more dangerous variants will emerge. With vaccination across most of the world lagging far behind the US, the Delta variant is likely to be followed by others…

Anything that decreases red state population relative to blue state population can’t be that bad!

But how can we believe you? Gnukid said covid was all a scam, a fake (and he said if it was real then the cure was sunshine, fresh air, healthy food and other elements of upper middle class life of leisure).

4x4abc - 6-23-2021 at 05:12 PM

oh heck, don't believe me!
I am not a doctor
but I am smart enough to understand research papers
they usually contain data, conclusions and opinions
and then there are supportive indicators
like how many people have died in India
can I trust anything any government says?
not always - a good portion of skepticism is healthy
my skepticism makes me ask - what reason could they (all countries) have to fake it?
I decided to trust them for once
and then there are the doctors I know personally and trust 100%
they say there is an illness out there that makes some people very sick and it kills more than we like
call it the scam virus if you like - it still kills people
not good
I have had it twice (some illness that matched all the published symptoms) including some long term effects
been vaccinated now and feel better than ever
seems like it erased the side effect buggers
can I go party now?
no more face cover?
I decided to play it safe and keep my distance to people (not only for health reasons)
as I said - I read a lot. If how other plages have played out are an indicator:
it won't be over for a long time

nuff rant - back to the pool

Yep, the notion of "normal" will be be in transition .... upon transition. Sad to see the risk promoted by anti-vaxxers and their influencing an unpredictable economic recovery, as well as soclal and health recovery. Cabo is reportedly rated as third worst area of spiking transmissions in Mexico.

I have been studying cemeteries in Baja
Santa Rosalia has 8 cemeteries with several thousand graves
there is a hidden one with 1,200 simple graves
Santa Rosalia had never more than 5,000 mine workers
money over health

Reading the Baja Western Onion over the past couple of weeks there is anecdotal evidence of increased infection in the Todos Santos area. Larger music gatherings are being postponed, as are art studio openings and other events that are likely to draw crowds. There isn't the sense of panic we saw six months or so ago, but it seems the tourist season is wrapping up earlier than usual as a preventative measure, and the expat community is maintaining a lower profile.

It's around this time of year that we usually plan our winter getaway. I wish we had a crystal ball to peek ahead to February 2022, but for now we're just watching and hoping...

Skipjack Joe - 6-24-2021 at 06:26 AM

The postvaccination data shows that the vaccine Sinovac to have an efficacy of 51% worldwide. This is the predominant vaccine given to the people of Baja. That's a pretty low number. The good news is that those that did get infected had a mild case without hospitalization. Still, the symptoms can persist for months.

Fresh air is the number one health factor for most causing complications resulting in complications from colds, flu and pneumonia.

Intubation is the number one factor associated to cause of death associated to Flu, due o lack of fresh air, yet, it is incentivized by CDC/WHO for CV patients with 80% intubated resulting in death.

Note something you disagree with and provide evidence to support your opinion?

Clarify your thoughts, be open minded, communicate, what specifically is your point?

The primary problem for many here is that each week of this fiasco we learned that the claims of the prior week were incorrect.

It's hard to accept you were lied to by someone you trusted and believed, it's hard to evolve your belief system.

Because of the CDC FOIA release of correspondence between Fauci et al now we know the truth, if you are willing to READ. Fauci is a medical fraud who intentionally harmed masses for profit.

The common CV vaccines clearly state by manufacturers, they do not reduce infection, transmission, or severe symptoms, they may reduce mild symptoms.

The EUA approval did not require studies to note harm to children, pregnant woman, high risk demographics (most seniors), how the jab affects organs, where the injections go, there is no long term testing, and they are not vaccines, they are synthetic mRNA injections that insert into DNA to RNA transcription process, to propagate CV spike protein production, which are toxins to your body.

We actually don't know all of the things in the injections, but what we do know is that they contain toxic chemicals and they promote spike protein production throughout your body, plasma and into every organ, forever.

The manufacturers state that since they don't protect you or others from infections and transmission, you should continue with facemasks, which is absurd since the facemasks CAN NOT stop expression of virus from the mouth and nose.

What is the logic to promote facemasks?

What is the logic to promote these injections?

Consider changing search settings to see how results change.

Having worked on improving internet search, while completing user research, it's apparent most people don't know how to use search, resulting in a very limited result.

A broad range of sources help broaden the news people see, that demonstrate that public data set, news, opinion etc, evolves quickly and dramatically over time, based on learning more as time passes.

If you want to use internet search effectively, check the search settings, turn off 'safe search', change results for 'last year' to 'last week' or 'last 24 hours', use multiple keywords associated to the topic, and quickly review the results over multiple pages not just the first page to select a broad range of sources, then open each one in. new tab by right clicking or control click, select new tab, and peruse.

Re your first link (cnbc) 4100 breakthrough cases out of 150 million + fully vaccinated persons. That's less than .003 percent. No one ever claimed the Vaccine was 100% effective. The opinion bias of your gateway pundit links is so obvious as to make them highly suspect at a minimum and unworthy of serious consideration.

The reason for continuing mask and distancing is due to ongoing spread by those who refuse to get vaccinated. Don't like mask and distancing? Let's just put the blame where it belongs. You're either part of the solution or you're part of the problem. Pretty obvious which part you are.

This data set does not represent the total number of vaccinated hospitalizations deaths, the point is that CDC STATES VACCINATED ARE HOSPITALIZED OR DEAD FROM BREAKTHROUGH INFECTIONS in ADDITION to injuries and deaths from vaccines. The total number of deaths is much higher since few are reported, CDC is obfuscating the data in a variety of manner, deleting data as reported by internal whistleblowers, CDC also clearly states they use different criteria to measure cases and deaths for unvaccinated versus vaccinated.

Suggesting that the source quoting CDC data set makes the data search invalid is absurd, READ the news, globally and locally, vaccinated are leading COVID infection cases and deaths today.

Furthermore, suggesting that those of us who are naturally recuperated with broad immunity are somehow the cause of vaccinated infections and deaths is either willfully ignorant or delusional.

This is not an issue worthy of personal attack, this is an Institutional fraud preplanned to cause significant harm.

Keep in mind the vaccinations PROMOTE SPIKE PROTEIN propagation throughout the body and organs, resulting in blood clots, heart inflammation, cytokine storm, and pathogenic priming for breakthrough infection, while the vaccines provide no reduced risk to infection or transmission.

Focus on your personal health, nutrition, sunshine fresh air, exercise, build a health kit of vitamins to improve immunity and have a plan for treatment at first sign of covid type symptom.

I'm sorry have you been living under a rock?

READ the publicly available news and FOIA release of Fauci's email where he clearly communicates they have colluded to create a lab based corona virus that is highly infectious but not particularly risky, hid and denied all treatments, in order to push for EUA of their vaccines.

All patents and planning were done prior to first seed on the ground of infection going back to far before 2019.

Fauci and Gates et al presented their plan in public many times in advance in Event 201 Simulations, speeches about educing population through vaccines etc.

This is not a personal fight between Nomads, we are in the midst of a premeditated global fraud that has caused signifiant injury and death.

You are welcome to make your own decisions and conclusions, if you want to take a vaccines, mix n match, boost up, isolate, alcohol hand wash, mask up, abandon family and friends, it's absolutely your choice.

The problem with gnukid and his ilk is not that they present information on the possible health repercussions of vaccines- no medication is 100% safe for 100% of the people.

Nor is there anything wrong with pointing out that eating well, exercising and staying as healthy as possible will help to ward off infections, of any kind. Basically healthy people are always at less risk for any disease than unhealthy people.

The problem is that these anti-vaxxers are fanatics. And as fanatics, they reject any information which doesn't align with their preconceived ideas. And are unwilling to weigh risk factors.

I have no doubt that injecting foreign substances into one's body isn't ideal and could have long term negative effects for some people. But when you look at those risk factors (not the conspiracy ones, but the real ones like the blood clot cases) there's no comparison to the risk of serious illness, long term health effects, or death, if you contract Covid.

I also find it ridiculous that the anti-vaxxers think pointing out how the pharmaceutical companies and anyone who has a financial stake in them is relevant. Of course companies, no matter what their business is, are all about profits. That doesn't mean they are purposely trying to harm people. Following that line of thinking, airlines exist in order to have plane crashes. Car manufacturers sell cars so people can have car accidents, etc, etc.

This is what's stated:

"The government has said the real number of cases is likely significantly higher, and separate data published recently suggested the actual death toll could be 60% higher than the official count."

"separate data" "suggested" "could be" 60% higher"

yikes, talk about a weak statement.

Hey Gnukid:
600,000 dead vrs 4100 - duh!

99% of covid deaths being reported currently are among unvaccinated individuals in the UDA - Duh!

I feel for you - what do you do now - you and your crew of clown conspirators proudly strutted around without your masks to prove just how special you are.

but now - since those vaccinated are going without masks - now how do you protest? do you mask up to prove you are not "stupid enough" to get the vaccine?

at this point - you show up unvaccinated - and you are threating my health and well being - that's not part of your personal freedom bucko - That instead is a personal threat to myself and my health, and an open invitation to make sure you "understand" that I need to defend my personal health!

Grrrrr.....

"Pfizer is about to seek U.S. authorization for a third dose of its COVID-19 vaccine, saying Thursday that another shot within 12 months could dramatically boost immunity and maybe help ward off the latest worrisome coronavirus mutant."

It's posts like cag13 that pull the curtain back on where individuals get the news "feed".
Talking points issued, get out there and spew!

By the way, anyone that has a "news feed" is doomed in my not so humble opinion.
Think about that term for a bit, "news feed". I'm thinking nipple. 🙄

Gnukid spouts off about the vaccine being dangerous, but he pretty clearly got vaccinated. Hypocrite.
