Friend who has a house in San Miguel reported to me he’s been taking his ATVs south without issue. He also stated the checkpoint for potentially
turning tourists back only operates Friday and Saturday. AKgringo - 7-19-2020 at 07:18 AM

Haha, no no. Pretty thick skin. Too busy planning my trip and figuring out how to do it with a wife and kid. Right now our plan is head down from SLO
to La Fonda, from there to Punta Baja for 6-7 nights.
Should need one single stop for diesel on the whole trip.
I’ll be sure to sanitize my visa on both sides of the transaction. JZ - 7-19-2020 at 01:08 PM

6-7 days in one spot is a very long time. I'd suggest you go a little further South for a couple days.
Punta Lobos and the surrounding bays are really special and pretty easy to reach if you come up from Santa Rosalillita.
Here is Punta Lobos: 28.884275° -114.427623°

Boy, If you are courageous, the waves are good in Punta Abreojos. I say that because it is FULL of surfers. I myself understand zilch about waves.
Yesterday, here in La Bocana, all the kids were surfing right in front of our house for hours.
Have a safe and fun trip!shari - 7-21-2020 at 08:23 PM
We have had some surfers visit here in Asuncion too that had no trouble getting here at all.
On Saturday morning, there was a health checkpoint set up at the entrance to Asuncion....but may have just been a photo op as it only lasted a few
hours in the morning and that was it!
No check point in Ensenada

Crossed southbound early this afternoon and no checkpoints all the way to La Bufadora.
All 3 toll booths were in operation. 39 pesos and the first two and 42 pesos at the 3rd one. This was in a passenger car.
The price for Magna gas ranged from 17.99 pesos a liter ($3.10 a gallon) to 18.50 pesos a liter. ($3.18 a gallon)savage44 - 7-22-2020 at 07:07 PM

That is awesome and useful news, Howard. Thank you!

Crossed down through TJ, drove through Ensenada without issues. Bust of a trip as far as surf goes, but no noticeable issues related covid. JZ - 8-8-2020 at 07:29 PM
