Matthew 7:1-3
John
I'll play John...
Pulled out of context that is just how some may wish to use scripture.
But, reading it in context, Jesus's words were to JEWS who had a beef with their northern tribe. As a King coming to sit in judgement in the Temple
eventually, he was faced with the task of uniting a divided kingdom ("a kingdom divided cannot stand").
Read the rest of that section John and find that it further states "How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when
all the time there is a plank in your own eye?" Jesus is speaking of judging the ones they (Jews) needed to unite with for his kingdom to succeed.
Further the remaining words address the Roman society they live among-st (who are NOT their 'brothers')...and not to engage them in the way they
should be engaging their northern family.
It's all about context John
And my words you cite are not directed at those I consider members of that kingdom I am a member of.
