That's a pretty amazing video, thanks for posting it.

I just added paddle boarding with Orcas to my bucket list....right above snorkeling with sharks! :wow:

Have spent a couple years of my life out on the sea of cortez. Seeing ocra's is still a dream.

AKgringo - 10-5-2020 at 12:52 PM

I have encountered them several times around Kodiak Island, and in Prince William sound (both sides) but always from the shore or a fair sized boat.

I don't want to swim with them!

Great video, it looks like the ocras are in shallow feeding on stingrays. Near the end of the video you can see one orca swimming around with a stingray in its mouth.

Wow, great video! What was really amazing is that they didn't knock that lady into the water and have a real meal! LOL

BornFisher - 10-5-2020 at 03:19 PM

Cool! Let`s hear it for Debbie!!!

Good spot! I missed that first time through, at about 3;45 of the video you can see the white belly of a ray in the orca's mouth.

Next level cool, thanks,,,

Whale-ista - 10-5-2020 at 08:06 PM

If they follow you home do you get to keep them?

BajaBill74 - 10-5-2020 at 08:09 PM

Gentle giants!

AKgringo - 10-5-2020 at 08:10 PM

And don't start giving them names. It just makes it harder to say goodbye! :(

JZ - 10-5-2020 at 08:10 PM

This video of the paddle boarder is A+.

The next coolest is when they surf your boat wake. That's what I'd love to experience more than anything.

BajaParrothead - 10-5-2020 at 08:19 PM

I love it when she'd had enough and made the break for shore. Awesome video!!!

I learned to water ski when I was twelve years old at a place called Las Hadas. It was at a bay just north of Manzanillo on the mainland, where quite a few years later, they filmed "10" with Dudley Moore and Bo Derek.

I didn't see any orcas, but the first time I got up on the skis, a couple of porpoise came to play with me. They might as well have been sharks, I wasn't prepared for that!

Great movie and a good ad for Las Hadas!

AKgringo - 10-6-2020 at 07:57 AM

Las Hadas (The Fairies) was the name of the place, the hotel didn't exist yet! There was a small, older motel there, and a trailer park and camping area with a mix of Canadian and US tourists.
