LOL, Thanks Jim!

I just heard the bad news about Cops Racing and this year's 1000!

Bajaboy - 11-17-2020 at 11:05 AM

We watched that last night on YouTube. Looking forward to Friday's race.

What's it have to say?
When I click on the link the screen fills with pop up ads. Also, Nomads are mostly English speakers.
Thank you for sharing!

Seemingly, Sunshine Rodríguez, a big wig in the fishing industry and in town has been arrested and people are peeed demonstrating. In response they are going to close San Felipe off to the race if something doesn't happen... or at least that is what I got out of it.

elgatoloco - 11-18-2020 at 02:23 PM

Members of fishing cooperatives and residents of San Felipe demonstrated outside the Civic Center on Sunday morning for the arrest of Sunshine Rodríguez, leader of the fishing port community.

Around eleven o'clock in the morning, the Sanfelipenses arrived with T-shirts, canvases and cards with slogans that indicated Sunshine as a political prisoner.

Currently the defendant is awaiting his hearing to be linked to the trial, the protesters declare that there is insufficient evidence to link him, and that his arrest "has no basis."

"Here comes Baja a thousand and they have to forcefully pass through San Felipe along the way, we are going to close them if there is no quick response from the government," said Octavio Alexander Campos, a member of the San Felipe Fishermen's Federation. .

They also noted that they will not try to have close meetings with the governor until there is a response.

Thanks... It's too bad that closing down a federal highway seems to to be the only recourse the people of Baja have to make their demands known!

Power to the people! :light::D

Power to the poachers? Wtf?

David K - 11-18-2020 at 04:44 PM

I was speaking of the habit to set up roadblocks for all kinds of demands, not specifically this one, which I didn't see anything about poaching in elgatoloco's or Bajazly's summary.
