2020 Tutor and students POSADA Christmas party PICS 12/22

Dec 21, 2020 was the date chosen to celebrate Tidiana and Abraham's kids, as well as Alejandro, doing great this past trimester. The tutors came thru with flying colors, the kids responded and we had A's and B's on the report cards....so, I planned this party. It was magical. One of the best days I have lived.

First the kids prepared Christmas cards, and in a gift bag, they chose a xmas decoration, some candy canes and a red writing book.

Here is the table where I set out the students gifts for their tutors.

The first part of the party was the kids getting my individual present for each one! I chose these with so much love!

Jireth Diana and her bracelet and necklace weave set. She came to me later and said "I really like my present!".

Part two was the students giving each of their tutors their cards that they made and the gifts. The tutors were really happy and surprised!

Part 3 was the tutors giving their gifts to the students. It was so so fun!









Alondra loves her student so much, and it shows, so I took a series of photos:

Part three was Tidiana and Abraham opening my gift to them! I gave them a water pump in the hopes that they get the water up to their property.










Then the tutors got their bonuses and the gasp was audible!!!!! Thanks Doug and Larry for making this possible.





I took the opportunity to ask what they had been spending their pay on. Two are selling Avon products so they reinvest, one helps the family, Jesus buys his own shampoo, clothes etc. and Sannia says she buys clothes.




Then we went to PINATAS!!! First the kids and they had a blast!












Then we did the pinata that I got for Tidiana and Abraham hahahaha We did not blindfold anyone, they had at it! It was a very well built one so it took many whacks!

Both of them told me they never ever had a birthday party, much less a pinata in their honor. This was a first for them and they thoroughly enjoyed it.

Finally, it was time for food! We have 2 guests at our house and POK CHI, who is from Hong Kong, offered to make Chinese fried rice. It was so so so delicious and we were so lucky to have him cook the real deal for us!

It was really, incredibly rewarding to see so many happy faces. I feel like I am the lucky one to have bajanomad and my family and my friends help me bring such glee to this family.

The new shoes were ordered from Amazon US and will take a while to arrive...but they are new and beautiful!

I am making or learning how, I should say, tamales today with my daughter-in-law (Chris's wife). She was born in Baja and does the traditional tamal prep on Christmas Eve. Leaving soon...
