Tacos El Sauzal

Parked directly in front 8 p.m. Easy HWY access on east-side frontage road just S of toll booth.
Typical bustling, clean, brightly-lit stand-up taco bar. One gal grilling carne asada to order, one fellow manning the al pastor spit, and another gal filling in on the griddle for tortas, quesadillas, drinks, etc.
TV blasting Mexican soaps. Better than average tacos, lightning-fast, attentive service. Six (large) soft tacos, two sodas, nine dollars. Now a go-to stop for us.

There is a GREAT torta place in El Sauzal. East side of road, next to a fruitaria. They just expanded to include sea food tacos but I can`t get past the tortas. They take a roll, cut it in half, slice one half, slather mayo on both sides and toast the bread. I know that`s confusing, but you get like a half roll, but it`s big enough. O.K.--- carne with todos, plus generous avocado, and grilled jalepenos and of course limes and radishes. I think the`re about $2.
